Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Editorial Calendar] Updated to 8.8 and calander page returns a 404 errorI did that initially and it did not work. I tried downloading the plugin from the developers site and reinstalling that. It did not work. I have added another editorial calendar plug in that does work, deactivated that, and tried this one, and it still does not work. I get a 404 error whenever I try to go to the calendar page.
After my initial post, I also discovered that the link to a draft post was also corrupted, creating a 404 error for the post. Eventually I tried copying the post using a JETPack function and was able to create a copy of the post that way.
I have reactivated WP-optimize and cleared the minify cache as soon as it was activated. The side bar font are still working, but the plugin font block does not.
Thank you for your continued assitance.
With those three plugins turned off, the fonts display as expected.
With Fastest Cache enabled, the fonts appear as they should.
With JetPack Boost Enabled, the fonts appear as they should.
With JetPack Boost and Fastest Cache enabled, the foots appear as they should. With Optimizer on by it self or with the others, the fonts do not display.
I will leave then three disabled for the time being. I hope this was of some use.
Thank you for the continued assistance.
I have disabled Jet Pack Boost, WP-Optimize and Fastest Cache.
Thank you for your assistance @dannycooper .
No, it is a standard Google Font.
Thank you.
Thank you for the advice. I changed the author of the child theme to match the parent theme. The sidebar fonts appear to be working now, so first problem solved, thank you very much!
Unfortunately, the Google Font blocks from the plug in still do not seem to be working. The first paragraph of this post https://randombitsoffascination.com/2021/05/13/a-brief-history-of-blueancient-blue-pigments/ is set to Parisienne font in the font block. It shows up in the editor that way, but not upon publication.
Any further assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Yes, I am using a child theme.
Thank you.
@dannycooper Thank you for the update.
I have installed it, deleted the cache and reset the fonts in the customizer. The fonts still do not appear in the sidebar. Similarly, the fonts from the plugin’s Google Font block do not appear in published posts. I can see them in the editor prior to publishing.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
Additionally, I tried using the font block and the font in the block did not change. You can see the post here: https://randombitsoffascination.com/2021/05/13/a-brief-history-of-blueancient-blue-pigments/
The first block in the post is the font block and the font displayed is definitely not Parisienne as selected in the font block. The font shows up correctly in the editing window.
Once again, any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

In reply to: Some fonts suddenly stopped workingThank you so much for your very specific and insightful help. You definitely went over and above, especially giving a line of code for the error. (Absolutely no sarcasm here!) It was hugely helpful in identifying what was going on.
Ended up pulling off all the font plugins and directly importing the necessary fonts into a child theme, then coded CSS font controls into the customizer’s custom CSS. Granted I had to call in the big guns and get help from a family member who actually knows how to code, but we’d never have gotten there without your help pinpointing the problem.
I truly appreciate your generous assistance! Thank you.
Thank you for your efforts on this. I appreciate both the solution and the explanation very much.
I turned off the Combine Css option and turned on the Optimize CSS and the site is working properly now. Thank you.
I have installed every JetPack Boost update as they come out to no avail.
I tried turning off the JSS option and running it with only the CSS option turned on and the drop down menus were not functioning. I tried with both turned on and the menus did not function.
All caches were cleared immediately after the Boost setting changes.
With the JSS turned on and the CSS turned off the menus function (but that is only when I have the minify html on WP-optimize turned off.)
Thank you for your continued assistance.
Last night I updated WP fastest cache and WP optimize and tested the JetPack boost CSS optimize afterward, clearing the cache immediately after turning on the CSS optimize. The dropdown menus continued to be broke with the CSS feature turned on.
Thank you for your continued assistance with this issue.
I have turned on the optimize CSS loading and cleared fastest Cache’s cache, both the whole cache and the minify cache immediately afterwards. The menus remain broken, with a down arrow beside the menus. (I also purged the optimize minify cache at the same time)

The settings turned on for Fastest Cache are:
cache system enable
Logged-in users: don’t show the cached version for logged in users***Significant observation, when I looked at the page while logged in(on chrome), the menus worked, but when I went to an incognito window on chrome and again on Firefox, the menus did not work. I tried clearing all the caches, and cleared the browser caches as well, but found the problem persisted.
mobile: Don’t show the cached version for desktop to mobile devices
New post: clear cache files when a post or page is published
update post: clear cache files when a post or page is updated
minify html: you can decrease the size of the page
minify css: you can decres the size of css files
combine css: reduce http request through combine css files
combine js: reduce http request through combined js files (header)
gzip: reduce sizes of files sent from your server
browser caching: reduce load times for repeat visitors-
In case it is of use, the setting on WP-Optimize are:
enable minify
process Java Script files
ENABLE MINIFICATION OF JAVA SCRIPT FILES
ENABLE MERGING OF JAVASCRIPT FILES
NO EXCLUSIONS OR DEFERED FILES
Process Css files
ENABLE MINIFICATION OF CSSFILES
ENABLE MERGING OF CSS FILES
NO EXCLUSIONS OR ASYNCHORNOUS LOADING FILESUPdated to 1.03 and the optimize CSS still breaks the dropdown menus.
