My host is iPage. TO set up my site I first installed WP to the directory /index. After several hours, I was able to get a simple page up and running at gayatree.org/index. But then I noticed a generic WP theme was displayed at gayatree.org, which is where I obviously prefer to have my site!
I decided to uninstall the WP script and start all over, but after the uninstall I noticed the generic WP site is still displayed at gayatree.org.
Question: How did it get there and how to I access it to configure my own content? If I try to re-install the WP script I am forced to specify a directory, which then changes the URL. I prefer to have the simple .org URL without an added directory.
I’ve already spent a few days with this madness so your help is greatly appreciated!
