  • Suggestion here for itsmarkk:

You should go back to your 1-star review and add a comment that says what you are saying here.

I almost passed this one because of your 1-star rating. I almost never check 4-star ratings… I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one ??

    Hi kmessinger,
Thank you for your answer. However, I tried it and it doesn’t work…
    Any other suggestion?

I had read those rules and as far as I know I followed the.
I still don’t know why you closed my thread.

My initial topic was never answered. There was never any reply.

Your forum may not distinguish between actual replies and additional info we put in that look like replies because we have no way to edit our post other than “reply”.

Again: I never had any reply.

And now you want me to add another comment to my initial post, which I’m guessing will again show like yet another reply and I will never get any answer.

So how do I get out of that mess? Can you tell me? You seem to be very prompt to accuse me of bumping (I can’t see anything else in your rules that I might have done wrong), but how do I get the volunteers to see that I NEVER EVER got any reply, without calling your attention to it?

And how do I call your attention to it when there is NO LINK to the moderators or actual support for the forums?

Instead of closing my topic, you might have checked that? and proposed a solution?

Would you be kind enough and find someone to actually answer and help me? instead of closing my thread without explanation nor help?

I would really appreciate because I’m still stuck and no one answered after 3 days.

Update: I ran the script again. the 4 Read/Write errors are still there, in red, and include one of the quarantined files.

There are new hacked files, new quarantined files but also hack files that have not been seen by the scan, like hdbfy8.php mentioned above, an a couple of others I found when I checked the recent visitors log and checked the files they were accessing from strange IPs.

    Hi Eli,

I did the rescn and guess what:
    1. Now I have 27 quarantined files in a folder called “Quarantine” that was created in wp-content/uploads, all containing the base64 code and only one of them appearing in the Read/write error log.
    2. A new hacked file appeared also in wp-content uploads
ALL OF those quarantined files hve been created today right AFTER I did the first run.
    3. There are now 1 more Backdoor Script, 2 more Known Threats and 4 Read/Write errors
    4. There is also a new file that seems to have gone undetected by Anti-Malware. It’s called hdbfy8.php, it’s full of code but it starts with this:
    <?php $wp__wp=’base’.(32*2).’_de’.’code’;$wp__wp=$wp__wp(str_replace(“\n”, ”, ‘FbU73jxnF0zEeozQtqJVkCnVfl41xDyvSZ/ROaJxCwsyVeJNeq/z2SUDr1+T5LHj/ALXoZn6tuxmkoac

I’ll run the script to fix those again, but I’m surprise that those appeared right after I finished the first run of Anti-Malware. I’m also worried that the hdbfy8.php file has not been seen.

I have 2 WP installs on that domain. the tinthumbs.php that whows a Read/Write error is the one on the root install. I made a copy of both, put them in MS-Word and did a document comparison: they are identical. I don’t understand why (only) one of them triggered a “red alert”.

I’m rerunning a scan and I sent you a copy of the tinthumbs.php file by email

    Thanks for your help!

    Correction, the theme was Twenty-Ten

I attempted to restart the update with upgrade.php but WP responds that it is up-to-date… which means I’m now in 3.9.1. This is the first time I encounter such a bug, and with a site that has no fluff at all!

    Please restore color capabilities ??

Hi, I’m not tech enough to do anything intelligent on GitHub (sometimes not even understanding what I’m reading).
But I would really LOVE to be able to put a background color (without having to do it with html coding).
So I’d love to see this added to the next upgrade or to see fix here, in Support.
    Thanks

I don’t see any answer. How is this resolved?

I don’t get this comment. I’ve been using the plugin without any problem (unlike others I’ve tried) and it does what it’s supposed to do.

    Hi Sayontan,
Am I to understand that now Suffusion is “matured” and updates only have to do with WP’s evolution?
If so, I’ll gladly go back to it, because, like I said, I loved it a lot.
    ??
    Marie

    Hi Sayontan,

I’m adding a comment here because I wouldn’t know how many stars to give Suffusion. My heart says 5, but at the same time I do agree with a lot of what DangerousOldWoman said – even though I’m still in love with Suffusion because of its versatility.

I used to install Suffusion on all my blogs (and my clients’ blogs), and then I stopped for one reason: There were too many/frequent updates…

Updates are great and they prove you are supporting and nurturing your theme, and changes were welcome too, BUT: it’s a lot of work to update the theme, check everywhere to make sure the update didn’t screw up something in one’s specific version (customization) of the theme, and then correct what’s been screwed up – multiply this by the number of installs, each of which being different from the other.

Because I install a lot of themes for non-profits and not-too-wealthy-artists, mainly, I can’t charge them for this either… and I can hardly teach them, as many are, let’s say, technologically challenged or just don’t have time/resource. Especially when I myself sometimes spent hours trying to figure out where something was and getting confused in the menus/options, etc….

Those are the reasons I stopped using Suffusion. The relative complexity of customization coupled with a somewhat confusing customization interface structure, and the frequent updating, which is even more a problem now that 3.7 updates themes automaticaly.

I do hope you will find the time to keep making Suffusion easier to use, and I repeat: I’m in love with it, but from a pragmatic point of view, I can’t use it.

    All the best to you!

    Ok, forget it,
We found the problem and it was elsewhere.
    Sorry to have bothered you.
