Like I said, I’m using the FRENCH version of WordPress, which means all language settings already are to French.

Hence my question: why is it that the theme is not using Breadcrumb NavXT’s French settings.

But why is it not back yet?

It’s not that I don’t feel comfortable doing translation, I’m a certified translator.
My problem is I freshly downloaded the theme and it came with the language files (aren’t they supposed to be up-to-date?). When I saw they were not up-to-date, I looked to find where the updated files where and then I hit a wall. The theme developper sends us here. Period.
And here people say “do it yourself” (thanks a lot!)
Fine. I can translate. Now where in Heavens do I find the file that identifies the terms that have been added and were not translated?

P2 is a theme I like because there is a front-end editor for the owner/users. The P2 Theme page sends us here for support.

I downloaded it from www.ads-software.com and it really says that the theme is translation ready. The French translation files are present too. But it doesn’t get translated when I use it with a French WordPress latest version fresh install.

Now, is there a solution? Does anyone know how to actually reach the authors of P2? Has P2 been replaced by another theme?

Still no answer. Who is the original translator? There is no info at all on the theme page (where it says if we need support we have to come to this forum.

I can’t possibly look through tons of pages because I live in an area with only dialup connection (2.5k/sec). It takes forever. Can someone point me to the files? I mean, I do have the .po .mo files on my computer but if they don’t work, what can I do? How do I make up the missing text? (New non-translated text keeps popping up.)

There is no problem with other themes. Only your theme. So it’s not a matter of translating wordpress, it’s a matter of translating your theme. The link you put doesn’t help much.

I’ll be glad to translate if you send me a file. Please don’t make me search through pages of instructions like what’s on your link.

Correction: The translation files are present, but either they don’t get used or they are incomplete or something else is wrong because I get phrases like:

Toggle Comment Threads | Raccourcis clavier (EN EN EN – FR)
or
* Status Update
* Blog Post
* Quote
* Link

or “Tagger” in the comment form
or “Proudly powered by WordPress. Theme: P2 by Automattic. “
or “Recent Comment”
or the dte is shown with French formats but with “on” instead of “le” (e.g. 10:30 on January 20)

etc.

I understand this but the truth of the matter is when I asked my assistant to install Suffusion and she saw it didn’t work (and screwed up the whole site – she had to go through cPanel to remove Suffusion because we don’t have access to the Appearances/Themes anymore when the bug happens), her reaction was to just pick another theme, period.

And if it hadn’t been because I knew how active, responsive and how quickly you answer our questions, I probably would have decided the theme was unreliable and moved (very sorely) on to another one.

Also, considering I faced the same problem when I installed from the downloaded – ftp-ed zip file from www.ads-software.com, this is not related to the install function in wp.

This being said, I was once more impressed by the fact that you replied so quickly even on a Friday night! I’m sorry I resorted to Facebook to find you. I had visited the “Author”‘s blog and completely missed the “Theme’s” blog link on the Suffusion page. My mistake. I apologize.

PS: I tried installing it from an ftp upload instead of the wp function and I go the same problem.

Erasing the suffusion folder from the themes folder solves the problem immediately (access to Appearance/Theme functions, etc.)
