In reply to: [Hueman] How to add print css?Hi Andrew,
thanks for all your support. I think I have to study the the information on the link you sent, and to check the instructions for alterations on the theme first: when I added the code you gave to the functions.php file in the child theme, I got a white screen and the site went offline.
I restored the php-file through ftp, so the sites works again as it should.
I’ll have to leave it for now, hope to be able to send you some good news tomorrow …
May thanks for now!

In reply to: [Hueman] How to add print css?Thank you WPyogi, but this generates a printing button. I would like to just style the output when visitors use the printing command on their computer or other device.

In reply to: [Hueman] How to add print css?this does change something, that is: hader/footer/sidebars are not shown. But on Ctrl-P, I still get 26 mostly blank pages, and no bodytekst, only the name of the category.
(By the way, I checked in firefox, the color on the homepage is all right, but there too, viewing the source of the homepage, there are several styleheets in html comments. I really don’t know what I could possibly have done to cause this….)
Printing in Chrome and Firefox give the problem as described, printing in IE gives another effect, that is: sidebar left and menu are still visible, but at least there aren’t 26 pages, only 2.
(and I won’t follow the tutorial ?? )

In reply to: [Hueman] How to add print css?I think there might be another problem.
I use Google Chrome. When I use view:source, I can see the style.css in line 43, but without the comment tags you apparently see.
This line is just like all the other <link rel=’stylesheet’ etc. items.I just tried IE, and on the homepage, I can see these comments for all the stylesheet items, but only on the homepage: as far as I can see, there is no problem on other pages or posts.
The homepage is also now in another color in the header an footer sections.I have no idea if these problems are related.

In reply to: [Hueman] How to add print css?that’s what I should do, according to the tutorial. Perhaps that’s not really necessary, but I don’t know how to get the css to work right.
For exampe: I added the following to prevent widgets and other unwanted stuff to be printed:#access, #branding img, #respond, .comment-edit-link, .edit-link, .navigation, .page-link, .widget-area { display: none !important;
but I still get 26 pages in my print, due to widgets, header, footet etc., instead of just the content of my post.
Perhaps I don’t understand enough of css to make the right adjustments ??
but I really want to get rid of all the stuff that surrounds the actual post.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Hueman] How to add print css?Hi Andrew,
I’m using the child theme of Hueman, so adding the css-info is not the problem. I just don’t know which php-file I should change, that is: where I can find
‘<link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” media=”screen” href=”<?php bloginfo( ‘stylesheet_url’ ); ?>” />’. According to the tutorial, I should add ‘, print’ to media=”screen”.I tried adding the print-css you suggested to the child stylesheet, but that doesn’t work in the way that I want: it gives a printing command all right, but it still prints all the widgets etc. I just want the content of the post itself (title, picture, text), in a way that is defined by a special stylesheet.
Hope you can help.

In reply to: [Hueman] styling links only in bodytext posts and pagesHi Steve,
my site is on https://waternatuurlijkgrootsalland.nl/
Except for some styling on tables, I haven’t changed the style.css.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Uji Countdown] Uji Countdown 2.0I used the shortcode that nocleats posted, and this works fine. But it only works thanks to this shortcode that I paste into the post: I still get a blank pop up page when using the icon in the kitchen sink (Tiny MCE) for adding the countdown to a page or post.
As I only need one countdown, that is no problem for me, but I don’t think thats what the developper meant to happen.
