  • Scratch my last reply, is not true. It wasn’t Litespeed Cache plugin who was making the renaming. Apparently when we take the pictures in our phone, some are “hiddenly rotated” or something, while in Windows they all seem fine or with the same rotation we saw them on the device, somehow some files are rotated and allegedly WordPress rotates them “back”?
Honestly I give up with this topic bc I know I will have to eventually rename all my pic names to something more SEO friendly than a date name like 20201228_064234. Just keep uploading them with the “rotated” thing and after you upload them, think about SEO file renaming. There are plugins for bulk renaming your pics once they’re already uploaded, I know that, haven’t used them tho bc I just started.

Hi, I had the same annoying problem, and even worse I noticed this renaming started to happen to every single image I uploaded through whichever method, I deleted all plugins related to folders and media but turns out it was this plugin LiteSpeed Cache that was causing this.
I noticed this plugin was downloaded from the moment I started my website but was disabled. Now I recall I might’ve activated it recently.
I deactivated/deleted the plugin and the -rotated renaming is gone.
I noticed the plugin had some settings related to file renaming but honestly it wasn’t straight forward and seemed complicated for a newbie. Never saw anything related to “rotation” or renaming based on rotation tho.
