That method is one of the ways i’ve tried to link to the media… i’ve manually added it to the page in the text part, written out the link and then made the link with the appropriate button in the visual AND used the ‘add media’ button above the editor – nothing works!

I’ve even copied/pasted code directly from w3schools so i know that should be correct.

I meant is there anyway to edit the html on the server rather than posting it through the online editor?

i’ll copy/paste one now just to show. I’ve pasted this into the editor:

and this is what then comes up in the source of the page:

‘Visit W3Schools‘

head back to the editor and this is now in the text view:

‘Visit W3Schools‘ !!!

interestingly just deleted the “” and its working. w3schools wrong then?

just used the add media button again – which added the ” “. removed them myself and it works…

Yes have disabled all plug-ins (only 3 installed, 1 activated). Has made no difference.

Is there any way I can edit the html directly just to get round this problem? I’m not sure where it’s hosted as I’ve just taken over looking after the site – I guess if it’s hosted on WordPress I cant?

If I understand your question correctly you are asking if I’m putting for example “www.Google.co.UK” in the link field? In which case no I am not.

Also if I copy and paste code from a page that is working (such as the links page on the site) then the published content does the same. This also happens if I go to edit a working page, do nothing and then preview it all the links are then broken in the same way.

I’m by no means an expert but I thought I was capable of posting a couple of links!
