In reply to: PLEASE HELP. Site HackedI noticed in the most recent updat to spyware blaster that all those domains are now blocked in SB.
I highly recommend that every use Spyware Blaster. It’s free (for manual updates), and it is unobtrisive.

In reply to: WordPress – Media Temple or A Small OrangeI believe that ‘a small orange’ also forces your extra domains under the master domain. That is why I didn’t move there.

In reply to: Will upgrading 1.5.1 to 2.6 kill my template?i would test it locally first. download XAMPP and install it, then WP, and add your template. If it dies, you saved yourself a migraine. If it works, well you know a clean install is safe. That’s a start.

In reply to: 2.6.1 Files – anyone have just the updated files for 2.6.1are you asking for a link to the changes file (modifications log)? (the file that list the changes to each file if any) or are you asking for a link to all of the files that were changed?

In reply to: How do you set up a WordPress retail siteyour post is a bit confusing.
1. are you asking if you can move to wordpress.com and move your content? then yes, you can. You can purchase domain redirect for $15/yr (I believe). I believe WP dot com has a page to allow you to directly import any blog type.
2. sorry I don’t get what you are asking.
3. Well a WP site should be PART of a retail site. HOwever you can sell directly from the WP posts or pages.

In reply to: WordPress – Media Temple or A Small OrangeI have been using midphase (anhosting brand) and it is quite good for the money.
I was looking at MT for a move, not that I am unhappy with MP. The reason I wanted to move is so that all my domains are not sub-domains of my main site. It’s not a big deal for most people, however when it comes to tracking and stats; it makes a huge difference. Plus MT has some features you will never get from MP (like shell access). Installation of what I want, not what is allowed; within reason of course.
I too heard some bad things about MT, and decided to stick w/MP for one more year. For $90/yr it’s a good deal. However, I have to do things in ways that would be easier with a shell or scp etc…
Oh yeah, if you use webdav MP no longer supports it. Not a big deal to me, as I don’t use it.
MP’s customer service is very good. Sometimes they don’t get what I am saying, but they do get it eventually. It’s a good value for the price.

In reply to: PLEASE HELP. Site HackedI thought it might be the sezwho plugin, but not looking like it. Catagory.php was looking suspect, nope. It appears that HTACCESS is the problem.
Check your htaccess files for rewrites or redirects. It appears that the redirects work on all but the top page.
I turned off javascript in my browser, and it still redirects. I think your HTACCESS files may be the issue.

In reply to: HTML Comment destroys formattingI, like others, have plenty of comments within my theme files, and havent seen a single issue. Dunno, hard to say without seeing your site, and what you are doing.
Geezus guy. How many times do I have to say it’s IN THE POST, not the code.

In reply to: HTML Comment destroys formattingI’d remove the unused, trouble-causing commented out tags in the posts using something like the Search and Replace plugin.
I will take a look at that. Thanks.

In reply to: HTML Comment destroys formattingIf no one here understands what I am saying then it’s time to switch to Movable Type. This is very basic coding I am talking about.
However to help out, here are some links:
Even WordPress thinks it’s a good idea
Like I said, the commenting of technorati tags in the post; forces the sidebar to the bottom of the page. This is common for WP when it encounters a tag that is not closed. So I am confused as to why this is going on at all.

In reply to: Please give me tips on my website’s theme, please!Pick a navigation scheme and stick too it. Horizontal or vertical; not both.
Something tells me that anyone interested in Animation is going to want to see that reflected in your design. Either that or loads of original content. IMO.

In reply to: Introducing my WP websiteNice Design. Don’t care for the scroll work on the search box. Navigation is weird.
The “about” link at the top seems odd. Not sure that having the about page as your starter page is a good way to go.
One post a page, hmmm. Trying to up your page hits?
Since you are going for a non-blog feel. I would change the name of the posts to articles, catagories to subjects, and blogroll to links. I would also move away from the blog type layout on the home page.
Generall I hate landing pages, just fyi.
Oh and way too much red on the page. I would drop the red background, and add some complimentary colors.
It just hit me what is odd about the page. The title. It looks lost and on the wrong page., and the page appears out of balance. Maybe switch the sides (more non-blog styling). Also the stars are out of place.
