Hi Andy, Mike was referencing the WordPress Tools section, not that of WP RSS Aggregator. In your Dashboard’s sidebar, it’s usually between Users and Settings.
You’ll also need to install the free WP Crontrol plugin, as explained in the earlier linked documentation article.
Hey @qph9697, just chiming in here since Mike is in a different time-zone and may take a few hours to reply…
Feed to Post has never been a free feature of WP RSS Aggregator. It has been a premium upgrade since it was launched that way 10 years ago, in October 2013. Today it’s available as part of our Plus, Pro, and All Access plans.
Perhaps you were using a different plugin or seeing something different?@micheletenaglia, as Mike mentioned earlier, the plugin versions don’t match up between the report and our latest version. If you have any private details to share, you’re welcome to contact us from this page so we can investigate further, otherwise you can post the information here in this forum so that others can follow along.
Just keep in mind that our plugin is called WP RSS Aggregator, yet the vulnerability report above mentions a different plugin, “WP-RSSImport”.
Hey @cheets_uk, we’re happy to help you with this. Would it be possible to send us the website URL where the feed is embedded, please?
One of the main reasons we see this happening is copyright claims. If a video post on Instagram is using something like copyrighted audio in the background, it may be flagged for a copyright claim. This would either be done automatically by Instagram or via a user report. In such cases, the Instagram API won’t provide the video until the claim is resolved.
If that’s not the case for you, we’re happy to look into it further for you.
For future reference, we’re always available in the support forum to help with such issues before posting a review. Hopefully we’ll be able to help you sort this one out and flip the review around. ??
Hi @tommcgee, unfortunately, this is something imposed on all plugins that use the Instagram API from Meta. Business accounts are automatically disconnected every 3 months or so and have to be manually reconnected. With Personal accounts, the reconnection is automatic.
That being said, the images should remain there even if the account is disconnected, so I’d like to look into that for you.
As for the Facebook-related instructions, can you please clarify which documentation that is? We’ll work on updating it to make things more clear.
Thank you for the review, @boygecko ??
Thank you for the great review, @hamrakdavid!
That’s correct. We implemented a solution to bring in the preview image rather than showing a blank media file, but the actual video cannot be imported.
You’re welcome, Markus.
You can also find this information posted in Instagram’s documentation: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-api/reference/ig-media/
It’s under Fields >
media_url
. As you can see, if there is copyrighted material used in a post, the API won’t provide the media file’s URL, so Spotlight cannot display it locally on your client’s website.Thank you, @pfholm, I’m glad we were able to help!

In reply to: [Spotlight Social Feeds - Block, Shortcode, and Widget] Very good puginThank you for the 5 stars, Philippe!
Hi Markus, videos should in fact all work, yes, so long as there aren’t issues from Instagram’s end. For example, if there is any copyright claim on the audio used in a video, Instagram may block it from being embedded via their API, which is what Spotlight does.
Have you tried clearing the cache for that specific feed as explained here? If that doesn’t fix the issue, it may be due to a limitation placed on those specific videos by Instagram itself, which unfortunately, we won’t have any control over ourselves.
Hi Fabio, it’s the same support email address as we’ve been using, so [email protected].
@lacittanews since this review is not the right place to be providing support (as per the forum guidelines), I would like to ask you to keep questions related to our premium plugins in our premium support channel, which is via email.
In your email, please mention the issue you wrote about above – the reference and disclaimer being removed when a source is removed.
As a quick note, content added to imported posts using such features is displayed dynamically, so the plugin does not edit the original post content. As such, sources should not be deleted if their content is going to be kept visible on the website in question.
If you are no longer going to import new content from that source, simply pause it. This will ensure that it doesn’t take up any further resources on your site but the imported items remain there nonetheless.
It took us a bit longer than a day, but we were able to get to the bottom of this issue. Thank you for your patience, Nestor.
The duplicate payment was refunded and all access (download links and license keys) is now working correctly.
