Ah, I had hoped I had missed something as I have already checked the ‘Enable to receive email as HTML instead of plain text.’ box.

My message window has a couple of tags <b> and <p>. The recived email does indeed appear to be an html email, but the bold and paragraph formatting is missing…

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong there? I take it there is no email template system anywhere for laying out the resulting email is there? I’d like to sticka line above the geolocation stuff to separate it from the main messag body and apply some formatting to the field names in the email (To:, Message: etc).

I’m having some luck with this. I’m hacking the MCEComments plugin (which adds a richtext editor to post comments).
Install it then look for:

$initArray = array (
'mode' => 'exact',
'elements' => 'comment',

And replace with:
$initArray = array (
'mode' => 'exact',
'elements' => 'comment,si_contact_message1',

And you get a tinymce editor for the message. My problem now is that no matter what the content of the textarea, the plugin only seems to deliver a plain text email (without any formatting).

Boring.

I’m keen to make the HTML email work too.
