Finally, the blog is imported, and I can start playing around to find out how my home should look like ??

Until now, I have understood much of what both of you have been saying, but now I really fall out. One.com refers me to wordpress, so I have not got sufficient help, unfortunately. I have been stuck in the same place since before Christmas.
You recomend me to use iPage, but at the same time say I can not use iPage?
Sorry to be a little difficult ??

WPyogi – how much does it cost do get a guided transfer?
Is it not also a free transfer existing as a part of Free WordPress Blog setup service.
I am almost willing to give this up.

I get the same answer – could not create folder.

The problem is not the XML file it self.
Let me try to explain part by part referring to the import process:
1. I go to my selfhosted blog, and press import.
2. Going to the different importing systems, I press wordpress
3. The option coming up, is to install WordPress importer (Versjon: 0.6.1) Pressing this button, I get the following answer:
– Downloading instalation https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wordpress-importer.0.6.1.zip
– Unpacking
– Installing
– Could not create folder (/customers/7/a/a/maryathomewriting.com/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/)

Here, I come no further.

If things were as easy as the link above described, I should be able to do it, I think, but somethings happen in step 2 that cut off the process.
I have downloaded the xml file, and tried importing it several times, but it is not working.

I’m a little bit demotivated after spending several days at this.

Yes, I have tried to unzip it before importing it, and I have tried to import it on wordpress platform (import->wordpress->install wordpress importer) – that is when I get the “failed” message. I also tried to install it on wp-content/plugin, and none of this works for me. It might just be that I do not get this at all. I mean, this technical stuff. However, if you have any suggestions for my further attempt, I am thankful!

I have been a little confused about if I could use the wordpress importer Versjon: 0.6.1. However, trying to import I get the answer that the file can not be uploaded.

As you say, my only content I get, Is the last one. When I unzip that file, I get a XML file with my content. Does that make any sense to you?
