Can you give me some more information on how I go about getting the free plan. I was there yesterday and did not see anything about their free plan. Also is it as easy as they claim?

OK does anybody know how good wordpress..com is? They are a bit pricey. I am retired and have purchased some stuff for resale. Is it really worth it. Is it fairly easy to use? If I get a positive feedback then this thread is done. Otherwise I will continue to try to get word press setup on my computer.

I am also getting a database connection error. I found a wp-config.php file. I don’t have a database set up yet but it is trying to connect to one.

I need a wp-config.php file. When I install word press there is none. I don’t know why this is happening. Unless it is in a different folder.

I forgot to start the wamp services. Back to wordpress installation.

Things got messy with my original install of wamp. So I reinstalled the wamp server and now it does not work. At least when I had apache 2.4 php 8 and mysql I had some things working. Now I cannot get anything to work. This is so aggravating!

So it is back to the beginning with wamp. It does not work. I don’t have any error problems.

I’m not sure what the problem is, I have installed word press in the www/wordpress folder. Any ideas?

I have been working with computers for about 50 years. I think I can battle harden my website. Word press is something new for me. So I have a lot of questions to get my site up and running. I gave up on web hosting companies as they claim setting up a web site is suppose to be quick and easy. I found it to be quite the opposite. So I gave up trying to make one work for me. Also they want a years worth of money to get started on these sites. Right now I am broke until the first of next month.

Yeah thanks. but not interested. How do I create a user in mariadb? I want to do my website on my computer. I have tried using several different hosting sites and got quite aggravated with trying to get started on these sites, so I am doing it from my computer.

I have Apache, php 8, and wordpress, and mysql working properly. I go to the plugin section of wordpress and am having trouble getting the plugins to work properly. I cannot get some of the things that wordpress is looking for and am unable to turn on. I don’t know where to find them. So I need to turn on a couple of pieces of software.

I open up, as in removed the semi colon from the various items I found in some of the reading. What I could not open up was: json, dom + libxml, hash, igbinary, imagick, pcre and xml. According to the reading these need to be usable as well as the various extensions. So how do I make the above list to make word press usable. These things will make it easier to install components ?

woocommerce. I read most of the things you posted but I still cannot install woo commerce.

I have tried to install woocommerce and get an error message that states:

I installed woocommerce to my plugin folder and cannot open the folder in wordpress.

So am I to add this folder to my wordpress folder in htdocs C:\Users\mathm\Downloads\woocommerce.9.3.3.zip\woocommerce. So do I add the woocommerce folder to the plugins folder. If so I can do that
