Sadly, that plugin also asks me what I want to find and replace before I export. So for the database this is exactly the same as WP Migrate DB.

The “style.css line 1” seems to be a weird bug in either Firebug or my theme, coincidence is that at the same time I was having problems with the style.css not updating properly, the last problem was automatically fixed.

I’ve already reinstalled AO, sorry for bothering you with this! Seemed too odd for it not to have been caused by AO since it was the only thing I changed, but sometimes coincidences like this happen, haha.

No worries, I’m off for a week as well after today.

The problems I’m having are indeed very odd. I still don’t know if Autoptimize is really the problem, it’s just the only thing I did on those websites in a few weeks.

Is showing “style.css line 1” for all css in Firebug a thing that AO does? If not we can be fairly positive AO is not the cause of my problem. Just wouldn’t have absolutely no clue what is.

Okay so I found out that SEO by Yoast actually has a function that fixes this. But it has a warning: “We suggest using FV Top Level Categories, if you insist on keeping this but do know that the feature is very error prone and not that important for your SEO.”

Yet the plugin they recommend has 5 one star ratings and it looks like it is causing some problems.

Anyone knows what is the best way to do this?

Sad to admit that when using Twenty Fourteen the plugin works perfectly…

So I blame my theme for the full 100% percent haha.

Since it’s a premium theme I will contact the developer to see if he can help me. Will mark this topic as resolved.

Thanks for the quick response, I will try to switch to a different theme.

I use a premium theme so I want to back it up before I switch, just to be sure. But I’m having a really busy day today, so I will do this tomorrow, and let you know how it went.

My email notifications weren’t coming through, but that’s fixed.

I deactivated all the plugins and activated the custom sidebars plugin again but I still had the same problems.

Can I freely activate a different theme and go back to my current theme without losing settings? If that won’t be a problem I can try that.

Yea I understand, the thing is, I’ve come across this problem in some other themes as well. Problem is that I can’t find those.

I’ve read it on multiple blogs and a friend of mine put city names in his and can now be found on a lot of first pages in google when searching for a service + city name.

I don’t understand that, as this problem is not theme related but okay, I will ask if they can help.

Could try it but don’t know if he will help since it’s not a error in the theme so it doesn’t cover theme support.
