    Yes I would probably need to do it in the css. But where do you do it in the Editor part of WordPress dashboard? Version 3.8 is very bare bones.

    Thanks, I have been reading the codex file on child themes.

    I haven’t created the wordpress website folders yet.
    I do have FTP access through my ISP host member’s area. They are hosting my wordpress site.

    My problem is this:

    I started creating my home page in the dashboard and added an icon image in the header but it repeats across the page. I found the no-repeat code snippet. So when I went to Editor it shows the code for my theme but I know any changes you save after clicking Update won’t actually be saved, so I need to create a child theme.

    All it says in the codex is:

    “”Create a directory in your themes directory to hold the child theme. The theme directory is wp-content/themes. “”

    But WHERE do you do that in the wordpress editor dashboard. There should be a menu selection to save a child-theme as your default code in the dashboard.
