In reply to: RSS Feed widget not workingHi, I’ve been in touch with the developers of the plugin but I want to move away from using unnecessary plugins as I learn more about the capabilities of wordpress itself and my abilities to use it. So I want to use the built in RSS feed display widget.
My installation, PHP environment and plugins are all up to date and this is the first time I’ve used the built in widget.
My site has been built using visual composer. Should I post details of the system environment or site health, would it be of use?
Many thanks for your, and any input.
Thanks,
MattHave had to deactivate plugin for now, but have uploaded a screenshot of the example of the error message i got when trying to load a page with the problem on at https://www.withnature.uk/auto-draft/
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I was using these feeds on one page, added as a widget, but obviously in a line rather than each on a new line…
https://www.independent.co.uk/environment/rss,
https://www.theguardian.com/uk/environment/rss,
https://naturalengland.blog.gov.uk/feed/,
https://www.rspb.org.uk/rss/pressreleases/all.aspx,
https://greenallianceblog.org.uk/feed/,
https://www.cpre.org.uk/media-centre/latest-news-releases?format=feed,
https://www.express.co.uk/posts/rss/128/nature,
https://www.edie.net/news/rss_latest_uk_news.xml,
https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/news/all/rss.xml,
https://www.discoverwildlife.com/feed/,
https://www.positive.news/category/environment/feed/,https://www.ceh.ac.uk/ceh-rss-feed,
The last one was invalid when I looked, there may be others. At the moment I’m only using the first 3 or 4 on the news page until the issue is resolved. However I’ve literally a dozen or more pages not working at all due to invalid feeds, too many for me to go through for example…

https://www.withnature.uk/waterways/
https://www.withnature.uk/wildlife/
…Looking forward to this being fixed, half my sites not working. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Override/remove bottom margin – Google custom search boxUpdate…
I’m using visual composer, in which the footer is designed and I added the following just to the local css in the footer in visual composer and it works and doesn’t seem to create any issues with any other tables in the footer…
table { margin: 0px 0px 0px !important; }
Probably not the best way to do it, but it works for now

In reply to: Override/remove bottom margin – Google custom search boxHi Tenzin, many thanks for your reply!
Sadly that hasn’t worked though ?? I don’t understand why not.
The element…
<table cellspacing=”0″ cellpadding=”0″ id=”gs_id50″ class=”gstl_50 gsc-input” style=”width: 100%; padding: 0px;”>…Still has the following applied…
table { border-collapse: collapse; margin: 0 0 1.5em; width: 100%; }
and isn’t being overwritten by the suggested css.
I’ve purged the cache and reloaded several times, do you have any other ideas please?

In reply to: [Visual Composer Website Builder] Custom sidebar causing javascript issuesMany thanks for your reply.
I have twentyseventeen installed and active. If i reactivate it would it reinstall the default sidebar and menu so I can use them do you know, or is the twentyseventeen theme irrelevant as the sites been built using visual composer?
Excellent. It has ??
Great work, thank you.Hi, my thanks for your reply. It would seem it is only the feed from The Independent that always has this issue.

I’ve just checked the url and it doesn’t validate, maybe just a case of having to remove it from the widget unfortunately?

In reply to: [Weather Atlas Widget] Drop down for location not working.Hi, my sincere thanks for your reply.
I have put the Weather Atlas in a static page using the option “WordPress Custom Widget” and scrolling through the dropdown to select weather atlas.
I’m using Visual Composer to edit the theme and build the pages.
I have numerous errors listed in the console, tbh it’s all a bit beyond my understanding but here is a screenshot of the console if anyone can help me make any sense of it.

In reply to: [Max Mega Menu] Menu not opening in blog or posts on mobileHi Tom, thanks for the reply.
I have no idea how to address the errors the console identifies. Is there a specific error I can research that you think is causing the problem with the menu?
I don’t understand why it works in desktop view with the same errors. I have modified the theme as the site has been designed using visual composer.
Many thanks.

In reply to: [Weather Atlas Widget] Drop down for location not working.I have the same problem though I am utilising the plugin as a custom widget. Typing a location when I’m logged in and editing the widget doesn’t work. If I’m on the page in another browser it defaults to New York though the drop down here does work and the user can select their city when they’re typing. How can I change the default location?
