One page I have is a Coldfusion page and the other is plain ol’ HTML.

Indeed I DO want a page title on my home page, but using the code that I am using to name the other page titles it wont give the home page a title.

Can you elaborate on what I can do with the code you listed above?

Yes, it is in the root directory. I recently switched hosts, yes, but I am also on my laptop now and did not have some files on my hardrive that I needed…

hmmmm. I pasted the code into .htaccess and for some reason when i click on the pages, it says page cannot be found.

Any thoughts?

i guess i was thinking of the ?= part having an effect on getting each page indexed by search engines. i have heard conflicting ideas on that anyway but want to err on the side of caution and do them as html pages. not a big deal really, but i possible i would like to do it.

WOOHOO! I figured it out. It was in the template-functions-category.php in the wp-includes folder. Dont know why but I decided to look there and see what I could find. I have fixed the problem. Hope this helps someone else.
