  • I am having the same problem I think. I just installed the site on the server, I can log in to the backend of wordpress but only pull up the directory listing in my browser. I also can’t see it with https://www.domain.com/index.php.

Jan – I see an index.html file on the server – do I need to delete this file?

I’ve read the install trouble shooting tips that say:

I see a directory listing rather than a web page.

The web server needs to be told to view index.php by default. In Apache, use the DirectoryIndex index.php directive. The simplest option is to create a file named .htaccess in the installed directory and place the directive there. Another option is to add the directive to the web server’s configuration files.

but don’t know how to 1) create a file named .btaccess or 2) add a directive to the web server’s configuration files.

    can you help?

    thanks!

Is anyone having the same problem with wordpress 3.0.1 with not being able to manually update a modification to a Page? I’ve installed 3.0.1 and reinstalled 3.0.1 but still don’t have an ‘update’ button on the dashboard for my pages. The only option I have is to wait for the auto-update to kick in, then click off the page and choose to apply the most recent autosave.

can anyone help here? I’m fairly novice so am certainly not looking for the right easy fix.
