Thats great many thanks.

However, the page does not break this time, but the latest post does not display.

I am using pages not posts, does that matter?

Thanks again, really appreciate your help.

Thanks for you reply, really appreciate it.

I have created the pageofposts.php page, uploaded it to my theme folder, created another page called news with no content and chose the pageofposts page as its template.

However nothing appears when I browse to the page, do I need to pass the category ID of posts to this page somehow?

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks again

//Query wordpress for latest 4 posts
query_posts('page_id=127');

// This file is kept in the root of wordpress install
require('wp-load.php');
//Query wordpress for latest 4 posts
query_posts('showposts=5');
?>

Many thanks for your reply.

I’ve read through the docs a few times, but I cannot understand how to simply echo out the title and content with no other html.

The reason I’m asking is I’d like to pull my wordpress pages into a facebook canvas page, which needs to be pointed to a url, https://www.xx.com?page_id=sample

I can use the same content for my wordpress site and facebook that way, so I dont have to update two different sites.

So if I create a page on my wordpress theme hardcoded with the page id, something like this:

about.php

<?php
$my_postid = 127;//This is page id or post id
$content_post = get_post($my_postid);
$content = $content_post->post_content;
$content = apply_filters('the_content', $content);
$content = str_replace('', '', $content);
echo $content;
?>

But it keeps generating an error saying it cant find the get function.

Any sample code/ help very much appreciated.

I have created a page in the htdocs using this code:

<?php
$my_postid = 127;//This is page id or post id
$content_post = get_post($my_postid);
$content = $content_post->post_content;
$content = apply_filters('the_content', $content);
$content = str_replace('', '', $content);
echo $content;
?>

But i get the error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_post() in /home/fhlinux150/m/xxxx.co.uk/user/htdocs/about.php on line 3

Can anyone please help?

THis doesnt work either:

<?php
$page_id = 14;//This is page id or post id
$content_post = get_page($my_postid);
$content = $content_post->post_content;
$content = apply_filters('the_excerpt', $content);
$content = str_replace('', '', $content);
echo $content;
?>

All I get is:

Permanent link to this post (1 word, estimated 0 secs reading time)

Anyone?

Something like this perhaps?

<?php
$my_id = 7;
$post_id_7 = get_post($my_id);
$content = $post_id_7->post_excerpt;
echo $content;
?>
