Thanks for your response. I was able to work around the sub cat listing issue by creating a Knowledgebase for each parent category and including only the sub cats in each respective knowledgebase. Then I added a heading above each knowledgebase indicating the parent category. Problem solved.
Regarding the “articles” post type… I am not certain of the name of the taxonomy. It would be logical for it to be titled “articles” since that is the UI label. So.. while it would be nice to find a solution for this, after solving the Cat/sub-cat issue, I no longer require a solution for the articles.
