In reply to: Help! images can't be uploaded in 3.2.2@oneword – I assume you are referring to when you are creating a new post or page and you are clicking on the icon to upload an image and nothing comes up? First thing to try is to disable your plugins and change back to the Twenty-Ten / Twenty Eleven theme. Then try uploading images. Failing that, manually re-install WordPress.
@italiantilters – as your issue may be a different issue, it is best to start a new topic.

In reply to: Can't access WordPress log in pageI correct myself – I started the same topic a year ago and I found it to be a plugin that was redirecting me. The culprit for me was a plugin called “Members”.

Failing that, I’ve had this issue before and a re-upload as Esmi suggests worked for me.

In reply to: Preview of new wordpress siteCould try to connect using an IP address? Some hosts give you a dedicated IP address that connects to wherever your site is, perhaps with a port number too. Did they give you this information?

In reply to: PostgreSQL database connection issueAlso, everything I see to do with getting PostgreSQL working on WordPress points to that plugin, so that looks to be the way round it, but I’ve not set it up to work with postgreSQL so I can’t be sure of its installation.

In reply to: PostgreSQL database connection issueThat error message sure points to an issue with your wp-config file, at least thats what it normally is.
You say you obtained a database through your school and was given a port numbers, are you installing WordPress on the same box as where your database is installed, or on a different box?
If your username and password are definately correct, then perhaps the host is wrong. Normally it is ‘localhost’ if WordPress is being installed on the same box.
In most cases, you would only need a port number if going through a proxy or a firewall of some kind.

In reply to: Site TitleThat PHP code between the title tags gets the Title of the WordPress site.
You could try using a plugin, such as All in One SEO that allows you to change the title, keywords and description of your site. This will allow you to tailor your site more inline with what you want.

Remember that Search engines do not instantly change what they have cached for your site. Sometimes it can take a few days for that to update.

In reply to: Add Images Behind TextZ Index will work, but I would rather put a background image in the div that contains your text.

In reply to: i want to customize my website like another websiteOne more thing, the source code of Digital Inspiration is a mess! That tells me they have employed a designer who has totally hacked that theme to bits to get it to a design they wanted.

In reply to: i want to customize my website like another websiteIt’s all about (or rather, mostly) to do with CSS. Brush up on your CSS, look at what they’ve done with their CSS and get some inspiration.
Use the Javascript Console in Chrome (or, if you are using Firefox, use Firebug) to analyse the page and see how they have put it all together.
You may have to set permissions on your CSS style sheet, but you may even just be able to jump into the WordPress admin and go to Appearance -> Editor.
Hope that helps

In reply to: FBlink, how to get e mails sent to followers?Try using RSS and encouraging your users to subscribe to that instead. You could try enticing your users to get them to hand over their email address to you, but are they really going to do this?
If you do go down that route, try a plugin that will do this,, I do not know of one myself but you could always go searching.
Good luck.

In reply to: WordPress Installation in Subdirectory@dehsnowman2 its a good idea to start your own thread, but you normally get that error message when your wp-config.php has the wrong settings in there.
