In reply to: Edit Home PageThis is the exact issue that has left me frozen in my tracks. I tried different themes on an alternate website and same thing. The only way to add content to the home page (since it’s not in the edit pages section) is the add content as a post. I need my front page to look like a website so I don’t like that solution.
This seems so basic and can’t figure out why it’s designed this way. There must be a reason, right?
Wishing for a solution….

In reply to: Where did my home page go?That’s exactly what happened yesterday when all this started. I created a “home” page to add content, but then I had two home pages.
It looks like there might be two options then. One, to edit the header.php, which I would try doing with instruction. And to be on the safe side, I would copy all code (for safety) prior to my attempt.
Or two, learn how to remove the date/author mark (or whatever it’s called) from the current post, which was the only way I could get to that single home page.
I’ll be adding content to the event over the next two weeks in preparation for announcing the fest. Maybe I can get it resolved or find a different theme that will work better for my purpose.
Thanks for all your help!

In reply to: Where did my home page go?Sort of. The only way to get content on the home url, is to add a post because there is no homepage listed as a page. And that is alright except that it looks like a blog post and I want my static page to look like a website. Maybe I can remove:

By: adminI wonder…if there is something missing (as you said earlier) in the code, then does that mean that any theme I work with on my domain will act this way? sigh~

In reply to: Where did my home page go?One more note…
When I changed it back, I deleted the home page as it was the only way that only one tab appeared. But, since there is no real way to edit it now (it does not show up in pages) there is no content. Now I don’t remember how I put content on that page. I’m frazzled and need to step away from my computer for a bit. Maybe it will magically happen when I return. ??

In reply to: Where did my home page go?I changed it back to default to give it one more try but didn’t work. So, I’ll change it back to the other theme, and guess I just delete one of the two “home” tabs. Thank you so much for your help!!!

In reply to: Where did my home page go?It’s saying, “listing directory failed”
Is there a way to download a clean copy of default and drop it into my ftp?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Where did my home page go?I see “default” in the theme folder, but not sure how to upload it. When I use premium theme, I drop it in and it uploads automatically.
