    Joy it looks like you need to change the permissions on your images folder.
    When I click on your links I get a 403 ‘Permission Denied’ error.

    Hi Guys,
    Welcome back from the conference in Spain.
    So I did a new test email with the following images:
    https://barronsquare.org/wp-content/uploads/BarronSquarelogoGold21.png
    https://barronsquare.org/wp-content/uploads/Pool21.jpg
    https://barronsquare.org/wp-content/uploads/arround-the-square-300×1241.png
    and the wysija pigeon
    https://barronsquare.org/wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/img/default-newsletter/newsletter/pigeon.png
    and the social icons.
    ONLY the pigeon showed up in the email received (in Outlook) ALL of the images showed when I viewed the email in a browser.
    If you give me an email address ([email protected]???) I will send a preview copy to you.

    UPDATE on Suffusion error messages: Indeed the error messages were caused by the upgrade to PHP 5.4.40 and cause no problem. There is a fix which can be applied to the Suffusion files:https://dan.langille.org/2013/08/02/wordpress-upgrade-issues/.
    It will probably be fixed in the next version of the theme (4.4.8).
    Also discovered that DeBug mode was turned on in the Geeky options settings in MailPoet and turned it off. No more error messages. Ignorance is bliss!

    One more point about the images – If I click on “View this newsletter in your browser” – ALL the images are fine.

    This is Alice in Wonderland – Curiouser and curiouser!
    I successfully migrated my site from shared host to cPanel. The .htaccess file is now the standard WordPress version.
    I immediately got some warnings on the MailPoet dashboard screens:

    Strict Standards: Only variables should be passed by reference in /home/zayda3539/public_html/bshoa/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_installer.php on line 207

    Strict Standards: Declaration of Suffusion_MM_Walker_Edit::start_lvl() should be compatible with Walker_Nav_Menu::start_lvl(&$output, $depth = 0, $args = Array) in /home/zayda3539/public_html/bshoa/wp-content/themes/suffusion/library/suffusion-admin-walkers.php on line 282

    Strict Standards: Declaration of Suffusion_MM_Walker_Edit::end_lvl() should be compatible with Walker_Nav_Menu::end_lvl(&$output, $depth = 0, $args = Array) in /home/zayda3539/public_html/bshoa/wp-content/themes/suffusion/library/suffusion-admin-walkers.php on line 282

    Strict Standards: Declaration of Suffusion_MM_Walker_Edit::start_el() should be compatible with Walker_Nav_Menu::start_el(&$output, $item, $depth = 0, $args = Array, $id = 0) in /home/zayda3539/public_html/bshoa/wp-content/themes/suffusion/library/suffusion-admin-walkers.php on line 282

    If I switch to the TwentyEleven theme the error messages go away (except for the NextGen gallery message). I suspect that this may be due to a difference in the version of PHP being used on the shared host (5.2.17) and the cPanel server (5.4.40). The same problem has been reported with the Suffusion theme and the JetPack plugin. In any case it did not prevent me from using MailPoet (but I would like to get it off the dashboard page).

    The wp-content/uploads/wysija/themes folder was 755. I reset it to 775.
    I duplicated the newsletter I had sent before and tried several variations
    Net results were:
    1. The original header and logo images which are in the MailPoet images menu now appear in the email
    2. The image in the original post (not uploaded to the MailPoet images menu) now appears. If I delete that image and replace it with an image I uploaded to the MailPoet images menu, the new image does NOT appear.
    3. If I add the social icons to the bottom of the newsletter they do NOT appear in the email. But the links work perfectly.
    4. Changing to the TwentyEleven theme makes no difference.

    If the problem is in the wysija images links, then why do the header and logo images work OK? I’m just about out of ideas on this one.

    Amazing. I scoured the forums for information on this problem and when I finally posted my question there were 2 others with the same problem in 24 hours.
    My experience was identical to yours. I tried all the same solutions without any change. BUT, I have another WP site with the MailPoet plugin and it works perfectly. I am currently looking at three possibilities:

    1. There is a plug-in conflict. Both of my sites do NOT have the same plugins installed.
    2. There is a conflict with the theme. The site that doesn’t work is using a child theme of Suffusion while the one that does work uses a child theme of Attorney.
    3. There is a problem with redirection in the .htaccess file. The site that does NOT show the images is redirecting to a different hosting platform (I’m in the process of moving my sites on GoDaddy from shared hosting to cPanel). BUT the links work fine in the browser so it seems unlikely this is the problem.

    I’ll let you guys know if I find anything. I really like this plugin and want it to work.

    Hi Cory,
    Haven’t had a chance to test all my ideas but just a quick observation. I took the one website that gave me the most problems and used WP-Migrate-DB to export a copy of the database only, then imported it into the new site I had migrated with Duplicator. Weird characters were gone. So clearly something was screwed up in the encoding.

    Hi Cory,
    Thanks for the fast reply. Actually when I looked at the FAQs it appeared that the item on “How can I fix strange characters” was more relevant. All of my articles are in English only.
    I examined my database with phpmyadmin and the encoding is utf8 and the collation is utf8_geneeral_ci. I was tempted to add the correct collation to the wp-config file and see if that made a difference. It’s also interesting that while most of the 30 individual MyISAM tables are utf8/utf8_general_ci, 4 of them, associated with particular plugins, are listed as latin1_swedish_ci. And the SUM is latin1_swedish_ci. But those plugins are not involved with the posts in question.
    I tried changing the collation parameter when I did the install but that didn’t help.
    The problem was random and did not occur in all posts/pages. I wonder if the affected text may have been copied from MS Word or similar source and the internal formatting was the culprit. Worth a try. I’ll run a test install and let you know.

    Not to mention the fact that v0.61, for all its fancy user interface, runs MUCH slower than v0.5.

    In the meantime I am migrating my WP sites from a Deluxe Shared hosting to CPanel hosting on GoDaddy and I discovered the Duplicator plugin. WOW! Files and database all in one package. No more FTP syncing the files. It’s a pleasure. And you can save the packages on your local system for backup.

    Thanks for a great plugin that worked the first time.
    I easily nested

      tags with multiple

    • under each of several parents so I had links to monthly newsletters under the parent year and multiple years. The one enhancement I would like to see is a way to have the previously expanded hidden text collapse if another parent content link (e.g. another year) is clicked. Sort of accordion style. Any thoughts?

    Update to my previous note. I located the previous versions of the plugin in the repository. I now have the zipfile for v0.5.
    So what’s the problem with v0.6.1?

    The display of the people on the People page is ordered by ‘title’ of the post which is usually the name of the person and if you want to order by something else, here is a trick you can use to set the order of the people displayed on the page:
    1. Set the publication dates (or just the time) of the People post in the sequence for the display order you want.
    2. Go to the theme editor in the WP dashboard and select ‘People Profile Template Page Template (people-profile-template.php)’
    3. In the DIV ID=’main’ you will see:

    $args = array(
    ‘orderby’ => ‘title’,
    ‘order’ => ‘ASC’,
    ‘post_type’ => ‘people’,
    ‘people_category’ => ”,
    ‘paged’ => $paged
    );
    $people_query = new WP_Query($args);

    4. Change ‘orderby’ =>’title’ to ‘orderby =>’date’
    5. Set ‘order’ => to ‘ASC’ or ‘DESC’ depending on how you set the publication dates (ascending or descending).
    Your photos and descriptions will now appear in the desired order.
    Here is the WP reference you can use for the available parameters for ordering $args:

    Here is an update. I just installed the Display Posts Shortcode plugin on my site, created a new page and entered the following shortcode:
    [display-posts post-type="People" image_size="thumbnail include_excerpt="true" wrapper="div"]
    That produced a page with a listing of the people I had entered in the People-Profile-CPT, including their images and writeup. So just treat it like any other custom post type.
    Hope this helps.

    this plugin can be used in certain themes (e.g. WPAdvocate) to create a page of people with photos, job title, biography and other information. The photo blocks then appear as widget blocks on the page. I don’t know if any other themes have made use of it. Unfortunately the plugin has a number of problems and the author doesn’t provide much help.

    For those who might be interested, the problem was with an older version (1.10.11) of Timely All-in-1-Event-Calendar. Since I couldn’t get to the plugins page, I had to deactivate it by renaming the folder in WP-Admin/Plugins. Then I was able to install a new copy, activate it and delete the old one. This happened on three of my sites which use this calendar. This plugin also interferes with WP-MigrateDB. I’ve been reluctant to upgrade to the latest version because they changed the themes. Guess I’ll be looking for a new calendar plugin. For now…Problem solved.

    Update on my last post –
    It now looks like the problem may be with the theme (Suffusion 4.4.7) or something else because I have the same problem when I install the plugin “next-page” (v.1.5.2). It does not occur with “Advanced Page Manager”.
    Any suggestions welcome!
