Thanks so much for the reply. The Shadowbox site (and I paid 20 bucks for the download) makes no mention of “only” needing the free plugin, but I am trying to isolate the problem by checking against other plugins not playing nice with each other.

I had enabled the FLV player and set the automation to true, but it was still breaking the display of sidebar widgets. I’ll get back if I still encounter the problem. I’d show a link but the site is in transition and it’s not ready for prime time yet.

Wow. And now I compound the morning’s atrocities by failing to give proper credit to Rvoodoo…

Hey Michael,

Thank you so much for steering me in the right direction. My host (ICDSoft) does keep backups. I just recreated the name of my old database (the one I’d deleted) and I did a restore that took all of three minutes.

It has been a very educational morning and I appreciate your help.

I can see if the host keeps backups. Good to know that the actual files get zapped with the db (seems logical). What gave me hope was that the uploads folder still had images and media.
