Unfortunately “Sublanguage” cannot be used with “Ecwid Shopping Cart”: this plugin is not using the WordPress standards API for content edition and url rewrite. Sorry!

And did you refresh permalinks (in settings > permalinks click “save changes”)?

Did you “manually” replace the sublanguage folder? The WordPress auto-updater is not seeing the current version by now. Your sublanguage version should be 2.3

I think I found it: it was a bug in sublanguage caused because “rewrite” args was not defined when the “journal” taxonomy was registered. It should be fixed in the current version. Can you try it? You can download it from there: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/sublanguage.zip (just replace the sublanguage folder in your plugins directory).

I had a look on this plugin All-in-One Event Calendar, and it appears it is using a kind of cache system based on url (probably for performance reason) that completely blocks Sublanguage (as well as any plugin that would need to play with url rewrite…). I don’t think there is a way to fix it except by disabling pretty permalinks.

Also after updating please visit the Sublanguage Settings page (Settings > Sublanguage) and check if you got a notice message.

I fixed a few issues in the last version. You can try to update the last version (2.2).

After updating, please go in Settings > Sublanguage and check “Use AJAX in Front-End” is checked.

Remove the code I asked you to add in the function.php of your theme child (but keep the opening “<?php” even if the page is empty).

You’ll still be able to put back the 1.5.3 version if it doesn’t work.

Also in wp_config.php is WP_DEBUG set to true? Have you receive any notice?

What do you mean exactly by “add the shortcode”?

Please also go to Settings > Permalinks and click “Save Change” (without actually changing anything), and see if it works better.

You must put this into the function.php file that already exists in your theme folder (or theme-child).

But if you aren’t familiar with PHP environment, I suggest you to keep the PHP files alone and use exclusively the widget or the menu from WP user interface. (Appearance > Menu, then check “language” in the “Page Options”)

Yes, you can just replace the sublanguage folder in your plugins directory. You’ll also be able to just put back the previous version if it breaks everything (hope not!)
