Thanks ! Your suggestion below allowed all my sections stating “loading” to reappear again, and I have not noticed any slow down.

Running 2.8.4, Magaling theme, only plugins are what came with Magaling, only have ‘comments’ widget enacted. No Gears here.

6. Add define( ‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false ); near the top of wp-config.php. That would make WordPress admin run slower, so can try removing it in a few days and testing again (this would eliminate any stale network cache)

Thanks Otto, your suggestion worked. I can now insert text AND images, hit ‘publish’ and no more blank pages !

I used <!–nextpage–> to break up pages, which solved my ‘excess text’ issue. I placed your code in my config and I can now insert images freely.

This has been keeping me up at night for two weeks so I thank you most kindly for the ‘fix’

So uhhhh, how did you get a variety of thumbnail images to work, t ? Did the ‘paddimage’ thing in the custom field of your posts actually work for you ???

Actually it looks like enacuous changed his ‘thumbnail.png’ to all one picture for each thumbnail image. You can locate that image at: “/wp-content/themes/magaling/images/”

Do you, like me, want to create a different thumbnail for each post ?

Adding ‘paddimage’ as the name/key in ‘custom fields’ along with the link isn’t doing squat for me. It changes to a 100×16 box with words in it ????

The “Featured Content Gallery” crew, who I think created the top rotating image photo thingee AND the thumbnail thingee, suggest using “thumbnailimg” as their name/key, but THAT doesn’t work either.

Any kind soul out there have a clue what’s going on please ?

Erika and JRyan you are both absolute gems !

Erika’s exact 1-2-3 help was terrific. Her ‘home’ reference didn’t jive with what I was seeing in header.php, but JRyan’s extra “what I deleted” (even though your exact code didn’t appear) was what nailed it !

For anyone else still scratching their heads, I’m using the Portfolio Press theme, my deletable ‘home’ in header.php, was in the middle of a ‘php if’ reference and a ‘php get settings’ reference and right after the ‘ul id = menu’ about 10 lines from the bottom of the page.

Whew ! I feel tremendous right now, this is just what I wanted ! No blogs here, just a snappy CMS / Portfolio page, woot !
