Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Removing Google Analytics Code from wordpress siteI do not have an editor section under Appearances. How could this be? I have the latest wordpress update.
Hey nlpro!
please excuse my late reply. So the adding and removing of large amounts of files had stopped for awhile. Now for the last two weeks ITSec is showing me that it is happening again. I have the new version 7.2.0. All my FATAL ERRORS have description SCAN FAILED. I noticed that on all of them the URL is different though. One has my website URL “www.theyearofplenty.com”, another one has “https://theyearofplenty.com/robots.txt” and another says “WP-Cron Scheduled Task”. I dont know if this is important information though. So it is always a similar amount that is being removed and then added again. When this was happening earlier I had my website host scan for malware and they couldnt find anything. Any other idea what could be causing these File Change Warnings?
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Not indexed by Google PodcastsI just looked into my general wordpress Setting->Reading and realized that I have the command “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” checked. Could this be causing the “Noindex” setting on my homepage? Should I uncheck it?
Thanks

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Not indexed by Google PodcastsHey Shawn and Angelo,
WOW! I really really appreciate all your help. I am not using Yoast SEO plugin, but I am using the Itheme Security Plugin. I wonder if this is causing the setting to be “noindex”. I will have to do some further research on this subject. It is weird, because I used to be in google podcasts and havent made any major setting changes or installed new plug ins. Any tips on how to figure out what is causing my homepage to be setup as “noindex”? Could it be my Theme?
Thanks a ton for the great support!

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Not indexed by Google PodcastsThanks for the help Shawn,
I have contacted the forum! I dont think that it is temporary because it has been delisted for awhile now.
In regards to Angelos comments earlier in the thread, concerning Nginx and HEADrequests, what should I tell my webhost to do?
Thanks a lot.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Not indexed by Google PodcastsI have had it for over a year, but still learning on the way. I am just trying to get it on a couple more platforms, because the only one that has been working consistently is apple podcasts. Is there a portal I can check to see if I am listed in google podcasts? And how would I fix that power press subscribe button then?
Thanks

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Not indexed by Google PodcastsHey Shawn and Angelo,
thanks for the great support. So what should I tell my website host to do? Should they just see how Nginx is set up or make any changes right away?
Here is the link from podnews: https://podnews.net/podcast/1330614234
The reason I thought I was having trouble with google podcats is that the subscribe button on my powerpress subscribe page was telling me that the podcast is not indexed by google podcasts. Is there a way to fix that subscribe button?
I appreciate the help.
@miroslavv @contentiskey Thanks so much for the help! Everything works again.
Hey Shawn,
thanks for the reply. So if I activate PowerPress again will the episodes be added back on the RSS Feed automatically? Or what will I have to do? If I get delisted by syndication points would I just have to re-submit the feed to like Apple? Would this also delete all my podcast reviews too?
Thanks for all the help
So I talked to my hosting provider and they did not see anything wrong on their end. What else could be causing these file changes? Could it be that the Ithemes Security Plug-In is not working properly?
Thanks
Hello nlpro,
I am not sure what you mean by Apache? is that a special type of file? It says that the file “error_log_ was changed though!
Module File Change
Type Warning
Description 8345 Added, 0 Removed, 1 Changed
Timestamp 2018-11-12 07:44:27
User
URL WP-Cron Scheduled Task
Changed error_logAnd then it follows with a list of over 8000 files that were added.
The site is hosted with bluehost.
Do you want me to copy and paste the information from the “raw data” tab?
I have also received a couple “fatal errors” from the file change detection. I dont know if that indicates anything.
Is there a way for me to send you a screenshot so you can see what my Log is showing?
Thanks so much for the help.

I also want to add that usually if these large amounts of files are added one or two days later they are being removed and vice versa.
Hello team,
I have been receiving similar messages. Over the last month or so the scans show that a large amount of files are added and then a later scan will show that they have been removed. Is this something to worry about? How do I know who is adding/removing these files?
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Podcast RSS FEED Author Tagwow! I am amazed at the effort you put into helping people with the plugin! I really appreciate your help. This was such a clear description. I will make sure my real name is in the author setting.
One last question. Is apple also looking at the program subtitle? My show is about food so my subtitle was “For the Curious Foodie”. Is it ok if I have this field filled out or is it better to leave it blank now that apple is on this “purge”?
Thanks
Max

Hello @amandato
Thanks for the help. So do I have to change any setting for the podcast episode titles to stop showing the show title or will the update take care of that automatically?
Thanks
Max
