As I understand you would like to invoke 2fa only when users go for passwordless login.
If the user enters a username and password then 2nd factor won’t be invoked for the user.

We can surely make this possible with our Google Authenticator plugin.
In the case when users want to log in without a password, they can log in with OTP either via SMS or Email.

The error is not regarding the PHP version. Our plugin is up to date with PHP 8.0.
The error is fixed and will be pushed in the next release of our 2-factor plugin.

I would like to inform you that our free Google Authenticator plugin does not use PHP SESSION variables.

What kind of methods do you support for 2FA?

Other than Google Authenticator, we support SMS verification, Email Verification, OTP Over SMS / Email / Whatsapp / Telegram, Security Questions, QR Code Authentication, Push Notification, Hardware tokens, TOTP methods,etc.

The IP whitelisting should be enough for Freshping to detect the status of the site.

You can enable the 2-factor authentication method (Email verification or OTP Over Email) for your users via selecting that specific user role in the settings tab.

If you want to enforce the two factor authentication for users then we provide that feature in our premium versions.

One of the reasons for marking those pages as broken is that the URLs that you have shared contain some resources which are not returned after the request.
The filters of the plugin need to be updated for the same.
