@dav74 I agree. But I don’t think a third checkbox is needed.

We also use the German Market Plugin but are under the impression we cannot make the “send personal data to shipping service provider” checkbox required. And if someone does not click that checkbox, the email and telephone number should not be given to DHL, correct? But if we use these snippets nothing will be sent to DHL even if the checkbox giving permission for DHL to send emails (from the DHL Plugin) is selected.
If I can ask, what did you do to make your site GDPR conform?

That would be great if you could discuss this internally.
From my understanding, based on GDPR laws, we cannot force a customer to give their data that is not explicitly needed to make a purchase. And because it is not explicitly needed that DHL receives an email address or phone number for a customer to buy a product on (most) web shops, the email address and phone number should never been sent to DHL unless they check a tick box saying it is OK.
Obviously we can simply implement the snippets to never allow this information to be sent to DHL, but it would be nice to offer those customers who want to have DHL updates, to be able to do so.
I hope this makes sense.

Well, in Germany, the email or phone number cannot be sent to DHL without consent from the buyer. In other words, only the name and address are allowed to be shared to DHL.
Ideally, the customers email address would only be sent to DHL if they click the checkbox.
Is that possible?

Thanks for the reply. One further question: If I remove the email field and a visitor clicks the checkbox to allow dhl to email them directly, will the email still be sent through to dhl?
Or will they somehow cancel each other out?

Good to know. I just assumed that aggregating the inline CSS would increase perf. But if it shouldn’t , I will simply deactivate it and continually test the perf. to confirm.

Resolved! I realised that all I needed to so was simply re-open and save the translations. Easy enough.
