In reply to: multisite with dynamic footer.php; same themebdoreste I had been going to suggest using bloginfo(‘name’); but get_current_site() is much better (as names can be changed by the user).
Many thanks Andrea_r and ipstenu. So I’m not thread hijacking I’ve moved here.

In reply to: multisite with dynamic footer.php; same themeThanks ipstenu.
The Super Admin is still allowed to modify them for users otherwise I was going to make the footer a sidebar like in twentyten… I’ll try that.

In reply to: multisite with dynamic footer.php; same themeYou used to be able to edit the footer under Appearance > Footer for each individual blog, this seems to have been removed – at least by default. I’ll let you know if I find a solution.

In reply to: How to change About and create set pages for all new multisites?Thank you very much andrea_r – all working as before now. Thought it must still create a blog/site somehow! I genuinely had looked through all the files but evidently just missed it.
Apologies andrea_r for earlier post; I was really frustrated – seems a little quiet round here, I’ll log in more often and see if I can help out on anything.
Glad you’re sorted too hauruapai :).

In reply to: How to change About and create set pages for all new multisites?hauruapai I too have been looking for this. It appears that no one knows the answer and this basic feature was simply over-looked when WP3 was developed.

In reply to: WP-MU Functions ReplacementDoes no one know how WP3 was developed?
I’ve also found that the theme folder named default is no longer the default. Therefore if I remove the default theme and rename MyOne to default like before it doesn’t work, the site simply doesn’t function. Therefore default theme is twentyten. Can’t rename default (formerly MyOne) to twentyten as blogs already link to ‘default’. So there’s now a copy of default (MyOne) called twentyten. This should only be a temporary fix so does anyone know of a way of changing the default theme?

In reply to: upgrading from wordpress mu 2.9.2 to wordpress 3.0Could you confirm that it appears to have downgraded you from 2.9.2 to 2.9.1?
If so please could you post a screenshot of your Dashboard.
These may help you:

In reply to: WP-MU Functions ReplacementSorry I should have specified – I’m using WP3
Many thanks andrea_r unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be WP3 compatible (only up to 2.9.2). A forum post says everything bar links modification seems to work, but that’s pretty key. It’s a sizeable site we’re running and anything that isn’t 100% solid can’t go on .
For the sake of compatibility and slow plugin updates etc the solution should preferably involve manually modifying a file rather than plugins.

In reply to: WP-MU Functions ReplacementFrom what I’ve read everything that was in wp-includes/wpmu-functions.php is now in the wp-includes/ms-functions.php file and /ms-blogs.php file however this obviously isn’t the case.
