I feel the same. Obviously with all the questions the past 24 hours, there is a problem with the upgrade on not all, but many of the users servers. I think WP could make the installation process more straight forward for those of us who do not have the time, or extensive knowledge to follow their vague directions.
I also used Bluehost to upload my first 2.3.1 WordPress. I talked with them yesterday and also sent them a email to change their version to 2.3.2. They said they would not any time soon unless it is a significant upgrade (say to 2.4.0).
You might also try contacting BlueHost to see if they will go ahead and add 2.3.2, the more asking the better.
However, it may be best to use 2.3.1 until the dust clears, and the bugs are worked out. For now I am just using the version with wordpress.com, works for me as I have a website for other uses.
