Thank you for all the info! I’m going to try clearing the cache and see if that works. I’ve actually never done that before for fear of deleting everything or messing up my website. Do I just use the clear cache I see at the top of the dashboard?

I’ll post the outcome here once I’ve tried it.

One update I just noticed– the duplicate titles I’ve been seeing on the post carousel just disappeared when I added a new post a couple of minutes ago. Does this seem like a cache issue ? It comes and goes, but it only goes away for a short time and only when I’ve made a change or re-touched and saved the carousel block in the editor. It always comes back as a problem though.

Thank you, Liz! Can you give me one more pointer? I’ve only ever used WP Snippet for adding code and I’m not sure where or how to change the video’s css object-fit. I see the Otter block has a place for custom CSS but I’m not sure if I should put it there.

I switched back to the page you mentioned and now everything works! I’m going to stick with that. Yay! Thanks.

Thank you!!! I’m setting up a self-hosted site. The answer was Jetpack. I activated and connected Jetpack and that worked! I now have a subscribe block that I can insert.

I’m still not sure that I understand what Jetpack is, so I need to do some reading. ??

Thanks for helping. It’s my index page with all my posts where I’m having trouble. I deleted the original blog feed block and replaced it with a blog feed block that had a more compact display layout. I didn’t do anything with the previous/next block.

I’m a bit embarrassed. I can’t figure out how to upload the screenshot of my Settings/reading page. My reading settings are — A static page: Homepage: Home, Posts page: Blog; show at most 3 posts; feed shows 10 items; each post in the feed includes excerpt. That’s it.

The category on all the posts is “uncategorized”

Any thoughts about what I missed?

Fixed! It was a plugin that was causing the problem (don’t know which one, but I deactivated all that were unnecessary). Whatever I deactivated worked. Yay! Hope this bit of info helps someone else in the future.
