Thanks for the reply. I ended up making a compromise, and removed the php function for displaying the featured/thumbnail on the individual post’s page. I manually insert the 1100×620 px image at the top of the post. Thankfully, I only had 2 weeks of posts to fix, and going forward this will be better if I move to another theme so I don’t end up with cranky page displays for posts. This way, I can get some awesome auto thumbnails for videos.
