The plugin has an old version of the min.js file.

Thanks for the dialogue Hector. Will run some tests and see what I can find out. I love this plugin (thanks!) and often recommend it to folks, so it would be great to get it sorted out.

Thanks so much for the response Hector. It doesn’t explain the problem though.

For example, I have a page on my site that GA is showing with 20 unique pageviews for today. WPP shows only 2 views in the last 24 hours. Based on your explanation WPP should be showing at least 20, if not more for that page.

I have another page that GA is showing with 1 pageview over the last two days, while WPP shows 35 views in the last 24 hours.

I am running W3 Total Cache. Wondering if that could be contributing to the problem.

Ditto. I’m having the same experience. WPP is no where close to accurate (as compared to Google Analytics). This has been going on for awhile in my case.

No update. Still working fine.

Update 3: I did a complete W3TC uninstall. Deleted all files, then reinstalled. So far, the problem seems to be gone. Will keep an eye on it and update if anything changes.

Update 2: Looks like I spoke too soon. Problem still exists with Page Cache and Browser cache only activated.

Update: the problem is related to CDN. I deactivated that (amazon cloudfront), and no problem.

Will continue investigating.

I’m getting the same problem. And it all started with the latest plugin update on 5/22/2013. Got a message from Google saying:

“Google detected a significant increase in the number of URLs we were blocked from crawling due to authorization permission errors.”

Turned off W3TC completely, and the problem went away. Googlebot fetched the page with no problem.

Sadly, it’s becoming quite a nuisance to try and police the Internet for stolen themes. We are aware of many of the offenders out there, including the one mentioned in this thread, and we are trying to figure out what to do about them.

In some cases we can get the sites shut down for copyright infringement, but many times, these sites are operated by people who know they are operating outside the law, and they go to great lengths to prevent people like us from being able to stop them. It’s becoming quite a time drain.

We are exploring the possibility of building in some sort of authentication mechanism that would require an activation code for use of our themes, but we’ve not gotten there yet.

It would be great if one of the moderators could remove the offending links mentioned in the thread. I did download one of the themes, and it’s clear they’ve added some encrypted code to the footer of the theme, and who knows what that code does.

And get this … they even added this to the footer template:

“WARNING: This file is protected by copyright law. To reverse engineer or decode this file is strictly prohibited.”

Wow. Brazen scumbags.
