I go one step futher and purchase Wordfence it will be the best $99.00yr you can spend for site protection. Its not going to stop the bots from making attempts but it will block them as well as allowing for country level blocks.

I suggest to use free version of Wordfence and admin recaptcha to protect yourself.

@briannie, were you able to sort your issue out? I ask because I’m considering switching to this plugin from another that is giving me problems lately.

Did clean install and still having a issue – Can uppercase and numbers be used?

I also experience the same issue no changes have been made to permaliks / htaccess or plugin changes it just stopped working properly without any changes being made to the site I’ve since disabled the plugin – was checking here to see if there has been any update as I really like this plugin.

Thanks WordFence Pro has login limits and alerted me of the fact there was an attempt to login at the renamed login screen. Since changing the login url so far no new attempts.
