    @ thanks Pankaj

    Of course . But only if you do it in the correct way . Missing a single line of code will give you problems . So please look your CSS file carefully . And upper part you will see a credit as i mentioned before . Replace it with the one i have given . Then you will see a new theme called ‘ myTheme ‘ in you admin panel under Themes .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    @uberpilla,

    I just went through your site . But unfortunately I couldnt find any UGLY space between the TITLE OF THE POST and the start of the ARTICLE . I even looked the source code but couldnt find that <p> tag you’re talking .

    But, i suggest, use MOZZILA FIREFOX developer tools ( inbuilt to browser ) or CHROME developer tools ( inbuilt to browser ) to view the source code . Using those tools you can find out the exact place where such tags / codes are written . Then just edit the file .

    Most commonly such case can be exists in HEADER.PHP and STYLE.CSS . Just by viewing the source code, find the exact LINE where this GAP is written ( that may be a PADDING or MARGIN ) and then find in which file it’s written ( most of the times STYLE.CSS ) and go to that LINE, you will find the value for that gap ( ex. 20px ) . Then just make it as you want .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    If the problem still occurs, even after uploading the files following the steps I have told you, then problem may be inside the STYLE.CSS file . just get a backup of the STYLE.CSS file and edit .

    Just remove the upper part and replace with this ;

    /*
    Theme Name: myTheme
    Theme URI: https://yoursite.com
    Description: simple theme
    Author: yourName
    Author URI: https://www.ads-software.com
    /*

    But I advice you first get a backup of the STYLE.CSS file .

    I successfully uploaded a theme from themeforest to my cpanel.

    I don’t understand what you mean by this . I guess you have uploaded the theme to a wrong directory . So please follow the steps given above .

    Hope you will get everything working .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    Follow these steps to upload a theme ;

    1. Download / or Design a wordpress theme . ( let’s say you have downloaded a theme from somewhere, and its’ name is ‘ myTheme ‘ )

    2. Now go inside that downloaded theme ( go inside myTheme folder ) and make sure the theme’s CSS file and other essential files are inside .
    ( Inside the myTheme folder, there should be a CSS file called STYLE.CSS and also a PHP file called INDEX.PHP, and HEADER.PHP . and there may be number of other PHP files as footer.php, page.php etc . But what essential are STYLE.CSS, INDEX.PHP, HEADER.PHP )

    3. After confirming that everything is inside the folder, upload the entire folder ( myTheme folder ) to your web server . This should be done using your FILE MANAGER in CPANEL or just by USING A FTP SOFTWARE like FILEZILLA .

    YOU SHOULD UPLOAD THE ‘ myTheme ‘ folder to WWW.YOURSITE.COM/WP-CONTENT/THEMES/( <strong>your theme should be uploaded here</strong> )

    What I mean is, after uploading, the theme directory should be ,
    www.yoursite.com/wp-content/themes/myTheme

    4. Please ensure that all the files have been uploaded correctly without any loss during the upload process .

    5. Now go to your admin panel ( https://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin ) and go to the section ‘ APPEARANCES ‘ from left side TABS menu of the screen . Then click ‘ THEMES ‘ .

    6. A page will appear including some screen shots of the THEMES you have installed in your website . Your new theme, myTheme will be there .

    7. Then just click ‘ preview ‘ button, and if it’s working fine, click ‘ activate ‘ button .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    @tdowning,

    Make sure you have uploaded the ENTIRE folder ( your theme , ex. lets say your theme is ‘ TWENTYELEVEN ‘ so you need to copy that ‘ TWENTYELEVEN ‘ folder to ‘ WP-CONTENT/THEMES/ ‘ ) .

    And Inside that your new theme folder, there must be a CSS file including the theme NAME , AUTHOR INFO etc . This CSS file should be named as ‘ style.css ‘ .

    Re-check these, and ask if you have any problem .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    @james Edmonston,

    Thanks for your info . I’ll give it a try . Anyway this is the first time I heared about this . Thanks .

    Anyother options please ?

    Thanks,
    Mebox.

    @landie,

    Ok, I just went through the VELVET SKY theme and figured out what you say . You still need to remove it from your CSS file . Or you can simply edit the logo to nothing ( i mean, u will find the logo inside your theme folder, u just need to open it using yout favorite photo editing software like ADOBE FIREWORKS / PHOTOSHOP and delete the entire thing inside the image and resize it to 1px by 1px and save with the same name . I mean overwrite it . )

    But above mentioned is not the professional way to remove the logo . What I explained was just a way to get rid of their default logo . Let me explain the best and the perfect way to remove the logo without even opening it in a photo editing software .

    1.Open your theme’ CSS file .
    2.You will find a line like below,
    <img class="logo" src="https://themes.dapurpixel.com/velvet/img/logo.jpg?" alt="Velvet Sky Perfume Shop" width="148" height="18">
    3.Now you should remove this line .
    4.Save the CSS file . ( using the same name to overwrite it )
    5. But always keep a backup copy of your CSS file before you start editing .

    * NOTE : if this way will remove your own logo also, then copy that backup CSS file again . and open it using your code editor . and then find above line and put your own logo image location for this

    src=”https://themes.dapurpixel.com/velvet/img/logo.jpg?&#8221;

    Example .

    src=”https://yoursite.com/velvet/img/yournewlogo.jpg?&#8221;

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    @nataliem,

    I just visited your site and nothing is visible at the moment . The best way is ESMI’s way . But I know at moment even it’s not possible since you have already activated your theme .

    Get your current theme ( the entire folder ) copied somewhere for future use . Don’t just delete it without getting a copy of it . Always keep a backup, as a practice .

    So what you can do is this, first get a fresh copy of Twenty Eleven theme, get that ( twenty eleven theme folder ) folder copied somewhere .

    And rename the folder to the name which your theme’s . I mean lets say your current theme name is ‘ myTheme ‘ ( actually I’m talking about the theme folder name ) . Just rename that ‘ TwentyEleven ‘ to ‘ myTheme ‘ .

    Now copy this folder ( including all the files ) to your ‘ themes ‘ folder inside wp-content . And then go inside the ‘ myTheme ‘ folder and open its’ css file and change its’ name as what was in your previous theme ( which you had the error ) . See below,

    This is the theme credit of twentyeleven theme . you need to change it as what was in your previous theme .

    /*
    Theme Name: Twenty Eleven

    After change it should be like below

    Theme URI: https://anything
    Author: anything
    Author URI: https://anything

    Theme theme name is the important thing . After doing all of these, just reload the site . It will load, but with errors . but some how you will be able to go inside the admin panel . So then from the admin panel change the theme to TWENTY ELEVEN again . and then the site will turn to Twenty Eleven original / default theme .

    Then from there, do what ESMI said .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    @intro200,

    All you have to do is editing the main CSS ( CASCADE STYLE SHEET ) file of your theme . The location of the CSS file differs from theme to theme . Most of the times it’s in the theme directory named as ‘ style.css ‘ .

    Just open the file using your favorite code editor ( mine is Dreamweaver CS5 ) and , there you will see all the styles are included . So then you will have to go through the CSS file and find where the HEADER information/ HEADER styles are defined . Then you can see the colour ( RGB code ) is stated there . You need to change them as you want . Lets say you want to make the colour in to WHITE , you have to change the current colour code to WHITE COLOUR’s RGB code as #ffffff . In this way you can change the colours / roll over colours of the top menu or any of the website .
    ( please note, if it’s a complected commercial theme, there may be more than one CSS file . but as i feel in your theme there should be only one CSS file . so just keep that in mind )

    Removing comments section –

    You have stated the comments section is at the bottom of the page . So what you have to do is to remove the CODE which call comments section to the bottom .

    Normally in any theme, the bottom section is written in index.php file or footer.php file . First open the footer.php and find the related . If it’s not there, check the index.php .

    After finding the div written for ‘comments’ you can simply delete that part of the code . then the site will not load that comments .
    ( I can’t exactly say which line is to be removed since I don’t know which theme you’re using . I suggest you to copy and paste the entire code of footer.php and index.php separately here then we can see the code and tell you exactly which part to be removed . But please make sure to tell us the names of the .php files and directories inside your theme folder . ex. header.php / index.php / footer.php / images folder / etc )

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    Thanks for replies both ESMI and Voodoo .

    But, want to know another thing . I have visited some of the wordpress sites designed by big web design / development companies , and all of their source codes are entirely different from what I designed . I know the source code is unique one for a development . But what I say is, when I right click and click ‘ view source ‘ , in their source, ‘ wp-content/themes/ … ‘ things are not there . Only the css styles, div ids and classes and etc are there .

    But the case is entirely different when viewing the source code of my own theme design in my own website . Even when I use Twenty Eleven theme in my website . When I view the source, everything including file paths, directory paths are shown . Even anybody can see what’s the theme used .

    Can u please provide me with a solution ?

    Thanks,
    Mebox .

    In reply to: How to install a font

    @meletis;

    Just use a simple plugin like ‘ WP CUFON ‘ which is available free . I have used it, and felt very good . Follow this link to the WP CUFON plugin page .

    Or just use @font-face method if you’re good at php/css coding . Google ‘ How to use @font-face in wordpress ‘ to find tutorials on this .

    Thanks,
    Mebox .
