Bad news from the person who gave us all hope. Apparently, after initial efforts, no one from the responsible parties has contacted her again:

“I am extremely unhappy to say the least, that, having paid for the [Polylang] Pro version which they claim offers support, that having written twice now, I have not had the simple courtesy of a reply. To make such a claim of offering support, taking money for it, and not coming up with the goods, is, I believe, FRAUD. Beware Polylang – better to try WPML I guess”

I am also very interested in a solution! I’ve been in contact with a few suffering people in the meantime and someone told me that after a lot of back and forth she got in touch with a helpful person at Elementor PRO who wrote her the following (message from april 12th):

“Great news (finally!) – We were able to narrow down the specific condition (or one of the conditions) to trigger this frustrating issue consistently on our end. (…)
We have already updated our development team who are more than happy to collaborate (again) with the Polylang plugin’s developers to resolve this compatibility issue. In an effort to do this as quickly as possible, our team will be reaching out to the Polylang plugin author to assist in making any necessary changes to their Polylang’s Elementor connector plugin if needed.”

Scroll down, go to page 2 and you see what I mean. ??
Back-arrow has the class=”page-numbers”.
Forward-arrow has no class.

Reducing the backup-splits didn’t help, so I’ll follow your advice and contact my host next week.
