In reply to: Adding Images to pagesHey there, BillJ
The JPGs are the best way to go. And all you need to do is edit the page of the specific menu page and insert a picture. At the top of the edit page window there are three-four little images and the first is for an “image” ??
Good luck!

In reply to: How to create Publishing house Book Store on WPOh, it’s very possible to have a high functioning store on WP! Businesses do this all the time! I’d start off looking around at different e-commerce plugins. Since I’m just a designer I can’t tell you which are the best. I know I’ve had to use getshopped.org before but I also know there are a ton of different ones out there. (both free and paid)
You’d probably get a better response if you deleted this post and moved it over to the Plugins and Hacks board. Since the E-Commerce extension is a Plugin that you integrate with your site!
I hope I helped a little bit and good luck on your website!

In reply to: theme help1. Functionality just means will the theme work for your company. Does it have the components that you want, a special type of page or a type of design on a widget that will help your company show off whats important. For example you wouldn’t want a “Barbie Doll” personal blog theme when you are selling medical supplies to a doctors office.
2.) Yes, you can change the theme by making a child theme and editing colors and such. ??
I hope this helps! Welcome to WordPress!
Thanks

In reply to: placement of comments box in twenty eleven…I’m afraid pretty much all of the themes have the comments at the end of the page …um. My idea would be (and this is only if you know php because this can and will ruin your WP if done wrong) is to look into the .php template files and see if you can find where the comments are called in. If you can find those lines (or even a line) of code that calls it you can move it to where you want it. And if you can’t do it yourself I would find someone who could for you.
And mind you, this is only a suggestion, I’m sure a lot of other people can (and will) give you their opinions and ideas. Look through them carefully and decide which is the best solution for you! ??
Good Luck

In reply to: Help me change this link please?Well, my guess would be to find where you put the button (in posts, pages, widget area) and put this around the image: (or edit)
??
I hope that helps

In reply to: Need help adding background image behind site titleThe only way it looks to do this, if you are going to use Twenty Eleven, is to move the image to the ID #branding. This does/will cover a lot more space than you intended for it to, but I think it’s the only way…

In reply to: I bought a nice theme, and now what?Welcome to the WP world! First off have you installed the theme yet? (I know it seems simple but you’d be surprised :D) If so have you tried making pages and see what the styling is that is preprogrammed? Most WP themes if done right are ready right out of the box!
And if you could send us a link of your site we would be able to help a little easier! ??
Good Luck

In reply to: Full width footerfirst off, your image isn’t repeatable. So I’d either make a different graphic or extend the cloud/sky graphic a few 200-300 pixels.
Then from there we should be able to make your footer full width.

In reply to: Functions File in a Child themeAs far as I know all you need is a .php file called functions.php and have
<?php
at the beginning of the file and?>
at the end and then in between you put your functions.Hope this helps a little bit, but above is my experience with child-themes and functions.php
Most of the time I copy my functions.php over from my main theme and edit it in the child. But I heard adding a new file called functions.php works as well. I think it’s preference…
