In reply to: To blog or not to blogwordpress.com has very limited functionality. If the only thing you want to so is have a personal blog, it might work, otherwise a paid service is the way to go. I host with Blue Host and find them to be very helpful, dependable and easy to use. The only drawback is after setting up a domain, you may have to wait up to one hour for your domain to appear online so you can install WordPress and start your installation. However, they also have one click installation and unlimited file space and transfers. Overall i like Blue Host a lot and highly recommend them.

In reply to: W3 Total Cacheok wow. I just logged in and the dashboard was immediately available. I haven’t made any changes so I don’t know what the problem was. Maybe just a WP bug? If it happens again I will definitely let you know.
Thank you for being around to support your plugins. Not all developers are equally accessible. This is a great plugin that reduced my site speed by 75%, so it’s good tp know if there’s a problem you will offer to help instead of me having to uninstall it.

In reply to: W3 Total Cacheheya. Everything is fine now, except now I can’t access my dashboard. wpadmin/index.php is totally blank. I have to put in edit.php to get into it, and I can’t access the actual “dashboard” link at all. I would like to make this an official bug report. Do you have a bug report link where I can do that?

In reply to: More then One Post Page Allowed?hey Nathan
Thaks for you time. Much appreciated. you can view https://www.theinnocentabroad.com/contact/ for an example of how your code looks on a page.
What I am after is just a wide, say 800 pixels centered column, with the header and footer, but no sidebar. All the colors as defined in the stylesheet should match.
Oh wow I hope that’s not too much. I’m a code idiot. :p

In reply to: More then One Post Page Allowed?Hey Nathan,
if you happen upon this thread again, I was wondering how you would feel about modding one of my template pages to make that code fit. I changed the theme and the code doesn’t work anymore. Well, it does, but it doesn’t take the style of the page. I end up without a column to place content in and the text turns blue.
If you (or indeed anyone) is up for the job, please let me know. you can have a look at my blog at htpp://www.theinnocentabroad.com

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] WWW and Non WWW causing issues in W3TCI don’t know how they resolved the issue. I’m hosted on BlueHost. I contacted Live Chat support and told them that the 301 redirect wasn’t working, and also that I attempted to fix it myself using the 301 redirect tool in CPanel with no success. The operator said to give him a few minutes. When he came back he said to clear the cache and cookies and it should work. And it did.

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] WWW and Non WWW causing issues in W3TCoh nvm, just called my host and they fixed it for me. Perfect!

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] WWW and Non WWW causing issues in W3TCI had some problems with W3 last week which caused me to have to uninstall it. I worked on it some today and it appears to be fixed, except now it seems that the https:// and the www. versions of my website are running parellel instead of redirecting,
I don’t have an .htaccess file anywhere in my directory. I have no idea how to create one, or what the code would be.
I assume this problem fits into this thread. Any idea how to fix?
