Thanks for posting that. That cleared things up a bit, and I’ve sent test posts to the blog entry per the author’s instructions on the post.

Which brings me to my next question. I don’t see trackbacks enabled on my blog posts, even though it’s enabled in all the right places. Could it be a result of the theme? I actually don’t like this theme at all anyway, it’s a bit messy and loud. I’m going to design myself, something cleaner and not hot pink. ??

hisgal, try Feedburner for subscribe by email. You will redirect your feed to a custom Feedburner URL, and Feedburner will give you code for a subscribe by email form you insert in a sidebar. Easy peasy Japanesy. Bonus: Feedburner has tracking stats and a reader counter.

What kind of bookmarks do you want? So people can share your content on their favorite social sites, or do you want “connect with me” buttons that people can click on to go to our social sites? Many people use both.

I can’t answer your question. I’m not that skilled in SEO, except I do know that even minor changes can sometimes cause a drop. I hope you get back up though. So sad to lose rankings.

I was wondering though, if you might answer a question for me. I’ve seen Alexa, but not sure how it works or what the benefits might be. Do you have a link to an-easy-to-understand-page I can look at, or can you explain it for me?

Just wondering why you would want to limit someone’s view of your webpage? If the page is public, when authors are logged out, they can see everything that was protected in log-in.

To show child pages in sidebar:

Find all of your page IDs, including the ones you don’t want shown. Since you have some page IDs already, I assume you already know how to find them. Then, In the Pages widget for sidebar, find the “Exclude field” and enter ID’s you do not want shown.

However, I definitely need more then one post page. It’s not acceptable for my purposes to keep updating one long static page. Is it at all possible to add more then one post page to WP, or will I need to install a subdomain? Any other suggestions?

go to settings>reading> and set your home page to static. Then you can upload your code and graphics for a front page like that. You can set your other pages as static for a website look, and designate one post page as you like. I’m currently researching to see if there’s any way to have more then one posting page.

I know this is a bit late, but just in case: Did you START your blog design for WordPress? I know Artisteer works great for Blogger, but if you started in one program and then went, “oops, I meant to make this for WordPress,” that can sometiems cause a problem.
