I actually ran across that same Stack Exchange post on one of my many Google hunts. I’m not a WordPress noob by any means, but I’m also not a coder. I played around with the code they posted and it didn’t work for me. Maybe Gutenberg has changed some things? I may still tinker with it some more though.
I was a podcaster for about eight years so I’m VERY familiar with all the player plugins designed for that; particularly Blubrry. They have a really nice player and it does playlists. The thought has crossed my mind to just use that. At least until maybe a ‘non-looping’ feature gets coded into WordPress. If ever.
I had also run across a WordPress.com post somewhere that mentioned adding “|loop=no” to the end of the playlist shortcode, but that also didn’t work.
