In reply to: New links automaticaly replicating at the page topThis issue is not resolved… however in light of the various anomalies that seem to surround the issue AND keeping in mind that the latest WP version is all about blocks…. I am looking for some confirmation that – with my site using an older theme that is possibly clashing with the new WP update (ie – the blocks) and that the page area might be “responding” as a whole block?
[It mattered not where I placed my new link – it always replicated at the top of the page as well as where the new link was inserted] .
Any thoughts anyone….leave it with whomever
sincerely

In reply to: New links automaticaly replicating at the page topHi
thanks for your time….
just to clarify – when you looked at my website page, can you verify that you did not see any link at the top of the page [ BELOW THE SCROLLING PICTURES)?
May I encourage you to have another look (below the pictures) and you will see at the start of the wording is a link ( I have just this minute highlighted the link in RED)….
this is the link that I placed (NOT at the top) but in the first left hand column.thank you in anticipation…

In reply to: New links automaticaly replicating at the page topnegative.
When I add in a new link to my list anywhere on the page I am working on – a “replicated” [ extra / doubled up / copied / same as my original link on the page ] always appears at the top of the page [ NOT the menu but the top of the page ]…
please refer and follow the page link that I included in my first initial report above and scroll down to the first link in the first (left hand ) column [ as an example].If I add a consecutive ( second) link to my page this too is “replicated” at the top of the page – the consecutive link replaces the first link ( does away with the first link) in the same position.
This position [ at the top of the page ] is at the start of page wording…I hope this is explains my concern with what I believe to be a problem with the WP program because this problem has only been evident for the last couple of weeks or so…
sincerely

In reply to: Extra items above the page menu are blocking the font styleGreetings WP team member,
It appears that my initial inquiry was halted maybe ( perhaps due to me adding a link that was not inline with wp protocol – oops!)… sorry about that, thought it would help resolve my concern when it actually caused a hiccup – maybe?
I’m not really sure! The issue is in reference to the WP pages used for editing… when clicking “into” the page area to edit and the toolbar (menu) pops up across the top (as it appears it should) the menu displays everything OK, in addition to the two “extra” boxes that are titled “change block type or style” & “more options” ( both of these boxes are situated ABOVE the Toolbar menu (directly above the font box), so… when I SCROLL DOWN these two boxes “ride over” the font box making it difficult to see the font size.
Is this anomaly likely to be addressed in any future wp updates?
thanks in anticipation
sincerely

In reply to: Extra items above the page menu are blocking the font styleThanks Tammie,
My understanding (!?) is that its in the editor. not a theme and not related to any plugin.
The issue is referenced to the WP pages used for editing… when clicking “into” the page area to edit and the toolbar (menu) pops up across the top (as it appears it should) the menu displays everything OK, in addition to the two “extra” boxes that are titled “change block type or style” & “more options” ( both of these boxes are situated ABOVE the Toolbar menu (directly above the font box), so… when I SCROLL DOWN these two boxes “ride over” the font box making it difficult to see the font size.It appears that these two boxes are an “addition” to the toolbar menu from ongoing updating – maybe they need to be placed in the menu?
IF needed I could email you an image of the issue… I would have uploaded an image but the support page doesn’t appear to accommodate this…

In reply to: inserting links in a postI too have been frustrated regarding setting links with what appears to be a “half n half” of the “old wp” as opposed to the “new wp”… the above video is fine (thank you) – but my option to “open in a new link” is NOT the same as presented above (I wish it were) [ I have what appears to be an “old” site], ie my edit button [next to the “apply” button, opens in a window which allows me to check (tick) the “open in a new tab” (again NOT hard to do) BUT when I click out and save my work, the link does NOT open in a new tab… when I check the box – its not ticked (BUT, I am!!!). that said sometimes it works (don’t know how?) but most of the time it does not!
Somewhere over the rainbow (sic) is an anomaly with the new wp that no one has picked up on!
its a shame, sad and extremely frustrating to work with a new program that appears to not support previous functions!!! [ and I am putting it mildly].Any takers please?
sincerely
