– Go to wp-admin dashboard menu Posts > Categories which will open up your Categories panel.
– Check out how many posts are associated with the “News” category.
– Click on the “View” link under the “News” category and this will open up to the “News” category page in the front end.
– Confirm whether the published post is listed on that generated page.My site went down for a short period, and upon returning it seems that my “News” category doesn’t work anymore.
Going back to the original post, did you find out why your site went down? In addition – what theme are you using? If you change to the Twenty Fifteen theme, does it show up?

In reply to: Sidebar Help@sarahwebsite so that “Areas of Advice” widget on the sidebar is a menu? You can either hardcode the list of links or better yet, you can create a custom menu in Appearance > Menus, after which, you can add it to sidebar in Appearance > Widgets.

In reply to: Sidebar Help@sarahwebsite I see the sidebar and nothing there seems off to me. The only list I see “Partners of Can” looks good and the horizontal menu looks good. Perhaps you need to clear cache?

In reply to: Category and breadcrumb help@tomvas Pages do not have categories or tags by default. You would need to install a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-tags-and-categories-for-pages/ to have some added.

In reply to: Sidebar Help@sarahwebsite Your website is under maintenance when I checked and no idea what theme you are using. I can only guess that you just need to tweak the stylesheet to correct the issue.

In reply to: Footer pushed up into sidebar?Hi @baynham, you’re using a premium theme which we have no access to so we have no idea what could cause that kind of issue. I would suggest posting at the genesis forums so you could get appropriate support for your theme issue.
