In reply to: Remember info option in commentsHave read and read on this and is it possible that the problem originates with the host server?
I can lower my security settings and it doesn’t make a difference on my site, but yet I can visit other people’s sites and their comment sections remember me.
I have the cookies from my site sitting in my cookie “log” so I know they’re there.
My theme designer has looked and looked and originally had my site posted to her server before I bought it and it remembered the comment info then, but not now. The only thing that has changed is the host.
BTW.

In reply to: Remember info option in commentsI’ve put in the hack and it’s still not remembering for me either, in IE or Firefox.
Can anyone help?

In reply to: Added plugin and lost picturesHmmm. I thought I had it all worked out. Apparently as long as I’m logged in to Blogger the images are present in WordPres (at least for me). But if I log out from Blogger, the images disappear.
I’m thinking I might give your plug in a try.
Thanks!

In reply to: Added plugin and lost picturesI figured out what I did wrong. It had NOTHING to do with the counterize files at all or the import.
When I did my first attempt of importing my Blogger posts, I was using a template that had errors and the importer was hassling me about them. So I backed that template up, switched to a fresh Blogger template, imported all my posts and images from that, and then switched back to my old template.
In switching back, I realized I hadn’t posted to let people know I’d “moved” so then I went back into my publishing settings and changed it all back to pubishing on Blogger rather than an ftp, posted my message and went to bed not realizing that I’d just cut the “connect” to all the images I’d uploaded to Blogger in the past year.
I went back in today, changed the settings back to ftp and voila! My pictures have returned. Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the funny posts. Trying to make it so it shows up as exactly as I’d seen it.

In reply to: Added plugin and lost picturesThanks HandySolo.
I had all the images last night (when I imported) and also this morning. When I added the counterize files and then checked my site to see it (I thought it was a “visual” counter and not just visible on the dashboard) all my images had disappeared.
When I check to see where one image is being pulled from…

In reply to: Added plugin and lost picturesI uploaded the “counterize” files again and was mistaken earlier. I thought I should have a counter on my page, but instead it’s in my dashboard. It’s working so that’s fine.
But I still haven’t been able to get back my pictures that were imported with my Blogger posts. I’m wondering if adding the plug in somehow messed up the process?
They were there. I can see some of them in IE, but none of them in Firefox and I have refreshed the page.
Do you think that dumping all my Blogger posts in WordPress and then re-importing them would help?
If I were to do that, are they the files found in wp-admin/import/blogger.php ? Do I need to delete the other files (dotclear, greymatter, etc,) as well? They have content but I’m not sure it’s from me or from the importer plug in.

In reply to: Added plugin and lost picturesI cleared my cache in Firefox and also opened in IE where I see where the pictures are supposed to be (there are boxes with x’s inside them) but no pictures in Firefox still.
There should be pictures in just about every post on that page but the first two. And they are gone from ALL my posts which I imported from Blogger.

In reply to: Thanks to Install4free!Hi Spencer…
I contacted him just after he sent his first and then again on Thursday. Maybe his spam filter is eating my emails?
I appreciate the help. I’m trying to do this myself now and have just gotten a bunch of gibberish on the Install page. Could you help me now since I’ve got your attention? Thanks.

In reply to: Thanks to Install4free!Can anyone tell me how long it takes after contacting Install4Free for WordPress to be uploaded. I initially had a speedy response from the good folks, but after giving my passwords I haven’t heard anything more from my installer (6 days ago). Or maybe he has installed it, but I’m too inept to see it — though one would expect that I’d get a reply email saying its done?
Any help would be appreciated.
