In reply to: [Zakra] No side bar option on Shop pageHi Ashish,
Thanks for your reply. I have followed your instruction but I still can’t get it to give me the option to have WooCommerce Left Side Bar on the main page when I click on Shop?
It works it if I open one of the links from the main menu drop down but not when I click on the main menu link (shop) itself. This is hard to describe.
If I click on the word Shop from the main menu, it brings up a page with all the shop products. This is the page that I can’t add the widget to.
It says under the customiser “Your theme has 10 other widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.
You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customiser to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.”
It displays on the pages if I click on the menu items themselves only.
Oh gosh!! sorry!! Thanks for all your help anyway ??
I’m running my site in local dev. How do I switch of mod-rewrite (sorry i’m a total newbie)
Not that I’m aware of no.

Yoast SEOI’m not sure honestly. I’m very new to WordPress so I wouldn’t know. How do I know is REST API was disabled by a previous plugin? Is there a simple way to check other that the tool health check?
Yes, it’s so strange. I have disabled all the plugins and used the default twenty seventeen theme and I was still getting it.

The REST API encountered an unexpected result PerformanceI found a solution although I don’t think its the correct method.
OH MY!! it’s working… I cannot thank you enough. You made me realise I had /wp-admin on the end of the URL instead of just https://localhost:8888/CP%20wordpress/
Please forgive my lack of knowledge about WordPress. Today is my first day using it.
Thanks again!
No i did’nt change the default port.
Those link still didn’t work.
This was my original url to access wordpress back end. https://localhost:8888/CP%20wordpress/wp-admin/ does that look correct or should it just be https://localhost/
I’ve done both your suggestions 1 and 2 from your last message.
I only just bought my hosting with bluehost today… could that have something to do it with? before I was just viewing it locally.
