Renamed the old functions.php to OLDfunctions.php and uploaded functions.php from the backup – didn’t work, but I think you might be on the right track – any other ideas?

OK – transparency on border of Image fixed, amended nggallery.css to:

.ngg-gallery-icon img {
    background-color: transparent;
    display: block;
    margin: 4px 0 4px 5px;
    padding: 4px;
    position: relative;
}

effected all thumbnails but I’m OK with that.
then I did the following (not a CSS thingies but got close t what I want):

I really don’t know what I am doing so if anyone can offer any imptovements, they are more than welcome.

Unfortunately, widget-context is more my style, but freezes my machine, or atleast slows it to less than snail pace.

Thanks Christine – the Host actually meant that I update PHP myself – I would have thought that the server was their responsibilty, especially as they don’t have a facility to update on their version of Cpanel.

I noticed that Backwpup hasn’t been ugraded in over 2 years, is this significant? I’m a bear-of-little-brain in these matters.

OK – rebuilt the style.css and all is back to normal, but this problem (ie description space) remains ??

That was a bit of a disaster – and I’m not sure how to get back.

It did do what we wanted it to do, but turned the rest of the site into chaos – I’ve re-edited the CSS to get rid of the addition, but at present it is still a mess and I don’t know how to fix it – any ideas? I’ll try cleani9ng my cache unless it is a problem there.

OK – I think I’ve worked it out – if I specify a specific style like <h1> text</h1> it works so if I set up specific styles in my child CSS I can do it that way ??
