The update failed and then took down my whole site.

Got this error:

OK, reporting back for anyone who might have this rather specific problem. Turns out that turning off a plugin called Admin Columns Pro solves my 502 problem and the custom sidebar saving problem. Off to that tech support forum.

The 502 error appears to be a conflict with a plugin called Menu Management Enhancer, which is unfortunate because that is a big time-saving plugin.

However, I deactivated ALL plugins and switched to 2014 and it still will not save it when I change which sidebar is called.

Your article says not to use debug on a live site but I can’t reproduce the error on the development site.

OK I will give it a shot although debugging is over my head.

FYI I am getting 502 errors on my site when trying to save a menu change, and WP Engine said error logs show that the problem is related to the Custom Sidebar plugin.

I am having the same problem with the quotes and the extra space. My Spot disappeared from my home page. When I added the spot in again the blank space was there. removing it did not help.

Thanks to this thread I took out the quotes as well and now the spot displays properly.

The spots do not seem to have the same problem when embedded through the widget. Those are still working.

Now if only there was a way to see which pages contain spots so I could fix them all…

Would LOVE to have the ability to reorder the widgets.

I ran the update and now the button shows, but it stll fails to insert the spot. Just puts a zero in the insert spot lightbox and hangs.

Oops found it. It’s called toggle.
