Updating the plugin fixed it. Thanks. I had another plugin that was for some reason blocking autoupdates on this plugin. Once I fixed that, I could see the AIOWPS update.

@hardwarehound Happy to help. At least now though if I use the official DISQUS plugin things work. That will be my fix until someone figures out the other issue.

Yes, I did discover there is a conflict with a plugin called CM Table of Contents. If I disable it, DCL loads. This conflict appeared after a DCL update.

@joelcj91 Update: I found how to fix a part of the problem. If I go to my Pages on my WordPress dashboard, and then Quick Edit a page, I have an option to check a box “Allow Comments”. If I do that, the comment thread reappears on the page. So the shortcode works. Perhaps one of the DCL plugin updates disabled this setting on all pages, as it used to work.

However, I still face the issue of a pluginc conflict that prevents the thread from loading until I deactivate the other plugin. This issue only appeared after an update.

@joelcj91 I sent you a staging copy months ago over these same issues. I think you must have missed it. I am emailing you another staging copy momentarily. My issues are as follows:

1. Like others, I used to have no plugin update notifications coming through until I reinstalled DCL comments.
2. The DISQUS thread does not load on posts so long as I have another plugin called CM Table Of Contents Pro active. However, custom text I have added above the thread does load at the bottom of my posts. Once I deactivate the plugin, the thread once again loads fine on posts.
3. In any case, shortcode does not work on pages. No custom text above the thread appears on any pages either. I have tried the multiple shortcode commands you have mentioned in other threads.

Official DISQUS plugin does not conflict with my other plugin. DCL-comments used to not conflict with the other plugin. If DCL can’t be fixed, do you know how I can get the official DISQUS plugin to load comments on pages?

Nevermind. I discovered it was a conflict with Disqus Conditional Load program. Reinstalling DCL seemed to fix it. Closing. I see the Rollback link now.

Giving you an update. In recent days, another bug has cropped up, in addition to the issue of shortcode not working on pages. Now, even on my posts, the disqus thread is absent. Take this example:

But what is interesting is that my manually inserted header that I put in public/views/disqus-comments.php still shows up. You can still see at the bottom of my post the words “Before posting, please read our Community Guidelines. Stay on topic, substantiate claims, and be kind. Thank you for your participation.” But no comment thread follows.

Also reminding you that I did send you a staging copy login like a month ago. It’s still active. Let me know if you want me to make you another one, that reflects this more recent issue as well.

FYI, while I see the form title appear when the model is opened from the widget, here is another form where the form title does not appear when the modal is opened:

I tried the new [dcl-comments] shortcode. No luck.

I also notice that my syncing to wordpress database option was lost and I had to make a new disqus app to reanable it.

Whoops. It’s Monday and the spam is back on.

Well I didn’t get any spam texts today, so maybe all that is needed is to put up with them for the first three days. But it is a Saturday, so maybe it will resume on Monday…
