Ah ok so i need to check the type of the image not the extension of the image, good but just a remark why when i download this image and i convert it to webp using online tool:

As you can see all images on the fronted website are original images ( jpeg, png, …) not webp images converted by plugin

Thanks a lot for your response. I confirm, iam using your plugin and the plugin is active and runing.

so when i upload an image, your plugin create a webp from this iamge and place it on uploads-webpc and i find these webp files but how to force wordpress ton use the webp images created by your plugin intead of original files under upload directory, this my question.

thanks for your response, how to check that the plugin is working good so and that it loaded webp images for browser? is there any method to be sure that webp images are loaded to browser that supports webp?

i have a question, iam using this plugin and after uploading pictures to my website i have tested dowloading some pictures from my website but i have noticed that not the version of webp pictures that have been dowloaded but jpeg version means original version with the same size of the picture however on my wordpress uploaded directory i see that the webp version of the picture is small on size than the original, iam sure that my brower support webp images because i have tested it with many websites that uses webp images, really i don’t understant how your plus is working?
