Oops. OK.
For starters, I “managed to fix” it originally by deleting the ‘blacklist’ table in my WordPress db via phpadmin. That fixed the problem I was having (which was that comments were working, but an error page would come up as soon as you posted one so that you didn’t know whether it had worked or not).
Anyway, after a bit more poking around, it seems that my current problem is “a bug in WPBlacklist 2.62 about entering null/space in the database“. So I’m going to try and use the suggested hack and see if that helps.
Oh – and finally – thanks for getting back to me so quickly! And yes – I’ve still got wpblacklist turned off ;o)

Oh no. Now something else has gone wrong. My wpblacklist stopped working – I managed to fix it, but since then you can’t post comments on my page. No errors. Nothing! It just reloads like you never even left a comment. I have just deactivated wpblacklist and tried and the comments work fine. But now I will be spammed to death. Has anyone else had this problem?

I know this is a late response and you’ve probably found a solution by now – but I think the ‘comments’ section on this very useful site seems to solve your problem.

Yep. That’s what I’m thinking, after all my googling. But I don’t know what to tell them to fix! I’ve just discovered that although I can access the page, I STILL can’t login normally – the only way I can get to the WP interface is by clicking on the ‘edit’ link on index.php (which I can only get to via the redirect). Any suggestions?

Hmmm. I don’t really know how to fix bad javascript, but I can now view it OK in Opera, the latest verstion of FF and IE so I’m a bit happier. In FF there are still a few issues i.e. text wrapping around images – but I’m thinking that must be a CSS thing?
Can’t believe it brought your whole system down! That’s Bad!!

OK, I’ve upgraded – it’s better, but still a little odd. I can’t figure out what I need to tweak to make it look like it does in IE. Can anyone help? I’m quite stuck.

Noooo. I am still trying to fix it. However I’ve just checked what version of FF I’m running, and it’s 0.8 – so maybe that’s the issue? I will upgrade and see what happens, but it doesn’t help my friends that (I assume) also have old FF *sigh*
