Why did themes.wordpress.net get taken down? Anyone know? this new method of themes here now is not nearly as good as the older version

No, there was another site that had Oh gosh at least a 1000 + themes

I thought it was https://themes.wordpress.com/ but no luck.

1. Thank you for the tutorial.
2. Myself and a freind of mine that is more familiar with PS did the same exact thing and I left the site with what we got out of the tutorial, the only difference is the background on his is transparent, and your using the same colors as the bkground.
3. My friend suggested to just have you do my site name and email it because he spent over and hour and it looked great locally but once its FTP’d up and you hit refresh, its all messed up.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Sure would be nice for the author to reply to emails and or the posts here

I have been through this time and time again and I always made a backup of the theme, then through one edit at a time and posting it to the server I got what I was going for. I also did NOT delete any code, all I did was comment it out and used either DW or Txtmate. I am on a Mac.

In the beginning there were allot of oops’s if you will but you’ll get the hang of it.

I do not know what was done, Podz/Mark “Support Maven” who is associated also with Freshly Pressed where I am hosted at said that the author fixed something or did something and all I know is it works now.

You MUST have a wordpress.com blog in order to use Andy’s plugin just in case u didnt know.

As far as hosting goes and people good and bad experiences its all in how the host works and takes care of its customers. I use FreshlyPressed, there pricing is high, but the support is awesome. I have learned allot from James and Mark, and they answer all my dumb questions, and maybe aggravated them a little but if it was that bad I am sure they would have dumped me by now.

As for others I know allot of people that use Bluehost and have NOT had the problems that others list here, maybe the company fixed things that were broken or maybe the posts about them were exaggerated. I am NOT taking sides, because the same has happened to me with https://www.crystaltech.com. Back when the original guy was running the place that started the whole business there was a strong sense of customer commitment, now IMHO, its just not the same.

Theres always 3 sides to everyones story there side the hosting companies side and the truth.

ANhosting is rated highly but as of this week I know of 2 people that were going to move there domains there but the XML import would not work, there support did everything possible to fix and work with the customer, but in the end could not get it to work.

Dreamhost is also highly recommended by allot of people but there are bad posts about them also. I know of one person personally Glenda B, that recommended them too me and she has been with them for 9 years, than again if you mention her name or email address she gets credit and free hosting for you mentioning them.

You can also goto https://www.webhostanalysis.com/ amongst other sites and find coupons or codes for discounts.

I was referring to the one Andy Skelton wrote, that I believe is the one thats on Wp.com that they use

I was told there was a fix applyed, because myself and allot of others couldnt get it to work, as of this evening my hosting “Freshly Pressed” said its fixed. And its working for me.

I just saw this post and tried it myself, and it doesnt work here either.
